  1. I can't wait to get home - looks like a streamer trying to fire up!
  2. Looks like it should be snowing at the moment in Bangor from this - but I'm stuck in work in Belfast!
  3. We have a weather warning people and it sounds good! https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/warnings#?date=2018-02-28 Between 00:05 Wed 28th and 23:55 Wed 28th Heavy snow showers are expected on Wednesday. There is the potential for travel delays on roads, with some stranded vehicles and passengers, as well as delays or cancellations to rail and air travel. Some rural communities could become cut off. Power cuts may also occur and other services, such as mobile phones, may be affected. Chief Forecaster's assessment Showers will bring a large variation in amounts of snow across even small areas with some places seeing very little snow. There is the potential for 10-15 cm of snow in places where showers become more frequent whilst nearby locations may see much less frequent showers and only small accumulations of 1-3 cm in places. Strong winds will lead to drifting of snow, and lightning could be an additional hazard, particularly near North Sea, Irish Sea and English Channel coasts. By the end of Wednesday, more than 20 cm may have accumulated in places in some eastern counties of England, Scotland and Norther Ireland from a culmination of Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday's snow showers.
  4. Moderate snow shower here - not even attempting to settle!

  7. Fantastic! By time those showers you're getting reach here - there's just the tiniest little whiff of a flurry in the air.
  8. The lunchtime BBC1 local forecast was pants! Hill snow and sleet tonight - no mention of wintriness to low levels, then rain over the weekend with much colder temperatures on Sunday. Again no mention of snow to low levels. I hope we aren't over-hyping it in here but surely there will be snow to low levels!? As you say, poor forecasts on the specifics!
  9. Wow - unexpected covering of snow here this morning - lovely surprise!
  10. Absolutely - great summary! Seen about 3 or 4 snow showers today at sea level and the models suggest many more to come at various stages over the next few days! Superb winter weather with plenty more to come
  11. Me too to be fair! Although we have seen a good bit of snow falling this Winter - not much has settled. Still time for that to change though!
