Hurray, let's look at cold charts at 250 hours away, and be annoyed when they inevitably dont occur.
-
Oh and by the way, my award for the most extreme easterly EVER on any model probably in the history of net weather...goes to this ensemble member:

Yep folks, thats -20C at 850hpa just a short distance from the SE!
Steve Murr just fainted, you beat him to it!
-
Just had a snow shower in Shrewsbury- where did that come from?
A cloud
-
Look at that finger of warmer air ploughing through the north pole!
-
Saw one patch of ice yesterday!
Still snow around in nenthead...

These AO ensembles keep tumbling.

They've already had to change the scale, will they have to again!? Already one member going below -6!
-
Worst case scenario, IMO, a cool-cold dry 7 days. Best case scenraio would be a massive perfectly positioned block, with undercutting lows bringing increasing cold 850s and heavy snow for a very prolonged period of time.
I'll take the second one
A few quite cold members on the ensembles:
-
Only 10 parts?
-
How many South East threads will you guys get through by the end of the cold spell? 20?
-
Use this thread to discuss wintry weather in the South West

The christmas pudding looks ridiculous now
Did you burn it?

The problem is, that even the easterly progged for Thursday is now marginal for my area as progged by the GFS. The upcoming northerly usually offers my location nothing of interest at this time of the year with little solar convection. I will have to wait some breakdown; which in this part of the world often happens in the blink of an eye.
All in all....I'm not happy.
Bloody hell. If you can't enjoy tonights charts you are on the wrong forum.
-
Bing isn't the only one...
-
We are almost forgetting the 1065mb Greeny high at T+90!
-
In a way I hope this downgrades a little as those charts are truly terrifying in a way with what is coming to the North on xmas day on top of the 3-4ft of snow they will be under, by boxing day half of Britain could have 7 or 8ft of lying snow and 40ft drifts and that would not exactly be sledging weather with snow up to the necks of everyone who is not a pro basketball player, that is huge loss of life weather
Save it for the ramping thread!
If only Europe was cold
-
I think most people would be happy if this was night mins:
It's actually 3PM max temps!
-
I WANT SNOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
PLEASE
I thought you wanted wind storms?
-
Will it snow in Southern Uzbekistan?
-
If we're still not that convinced that cold is not far away - the media are forecasting max and mins of 3° | -4° Monday and 2° | -6° Tuesday here in northern Holland.
Next stop Blighty!
Welcome to the forum
I like yor signature, do you want to the Ian Brown 'Fanclub'?
Edit: Bugger, where has my signature gone?

christmas pudding 1987-2009!
-
Is it on iPlayer?
-
Lol i love how Ian Brown's bull phrase has bee changed to Christmas Pudding! I was thinking only the other day it should be changed with the swear filter!
-
I can't help but feel we are going to be let down again. More downgrades for the easterlies, only -5 air reaching us now, and more downgrades to come. Yet again we are looking into FI for snow opportunities and cold, and thats where it always seems to stay.
I hope i am wrong about this, but it looks like it will go pear-shaped even with a massive Greenland high.
