  1. You are missing the point, but I'm just going to leave it there
  2. You are proving my point, glib remarks from members of the public who have a lack of education about weather systems, thats what I would expect from the general public. On this weather forum though, I would expect a basic level of knowledge, which some posters on the Ciran thread, are sadly lacking.
  3. I know I don't get it?! If it was general members of the public I would understand the lack of knowledge, but on a forum frequented by so called enthusiasts you would think they would know that the eye of the low will not be particularly windy for a start, and if that eye is tracking over them...
  4. That’s Polperro which is on south coast of Cornwall not North Devon
  5. Yes we seem to have benefitted well over the weekend and today with the rain/showers passing either side of our region leaving us mostly sunny. Even the rain on saturday came in in the evening so wasn't any bother either. Some parts look like its been properly miserable on the other hand...
  6. If the storm showing stays mainly in France, I will be much happier…
  7. 11pm sun down would still be way better than a 4am sun rise
  8. Pleasant morning so far 13C and sunny spells. I'm not in the office today so have taken advantage to get some washing out on the line.
  9. In the work office today and annoyingly couldn't go for my lunchtime stroll as thats when a showerband decided to move through, double annoying as it looks like it was mainly dry at home...
  10. Everyone does have their preferences, but sun rise at 4 am would be just awful! Im not an early morning person and light evenings are far more useful for sociable activities. I'd be happy for BST +1 in summer to get the full benefit of daylight.
  11. If we ever got a say in it, I would scrap GMT - it would get light at a stupid hour in high summer which is way worse than it being dark at 9am in the morning...
  12. Too soon to be messing about with the clocks, waste of daylight at a time when its already shortening too much of an evening...
  13. Slight frost on some surfaces but less than I had expected, probably because some cloud has rolled in overnight. Definitely have a more seasonal feel to things now and the weekend was positively lovely for getting out hiking with fantastic crisp clear skies.
  14. Overnight rain has given way to a very pleasant and sunny morning so actually having expected a rubbish day, it has actually been better in many respects to the grey fest we have endured over most of this week. Currently 19C
  15. Worcestershire seems a bit suspect to looking at the totals from the counties surrounding it Actually I note that is recorded in Coventry so nowhere near Worcestershire but then again Warwickshire is significantly lower too so it still seems dodgy!
  16. A very dull day but still very warm none-the-less. Sorted a few more bits in the garden at lunchtime ahead of the deluge expected...
  17. Grey and misty start to the working week, but what an amazing weekend, particularly sunday! Full sun and 23C in early October - it felt like a decent day in late August and from the throng of visitors to the national trust property we went to visit it seems most folks were enjoying it.
  18. No, the sun didnt last long here, its mostly cloudy again with the odd break. I feel the weekend isnt going to be quite as good around here for sun totals in the end as being touted. Fingers crossed we both get our blue skies
  19. September gets an 8 from me, great start with the sunny heatwave, dipped a bit in middle but the continued warmth has been enjoyable and lots of usable days to boot. Certainly a better month than both July and August this year not that would be hard to achieve...
