    Last year was exceptionally shocking, we only had the one snowfall and around 3 air frosts over the whole period. So rare was the event, I made a sarcastic video lol.

    need lower snow cover in America this year, so they don't stoke up the bloomin' jet stream into some enormous storm making machine, like last winter.

    Well, one thing's for sure, I can't get much worse than last year here, with 0% lying snow through the whole winter! God owes us , BIG TIME! :-D

    yay!! told you all so! :-D It won't last long though, but there will be bits and bobs of snow patches, popping in and out of existence, for the next few days! The cold pool looks to be growing pretty rapidly this year? Any thoughts?

    Tough! :-p We all want winter, summer has been amazing, but the tides are changing towards autumn :-P This bunch are gonna be like rabid dogs over snowfall this winter, I don't think I could cope with another snow-less winter like last, although it was 'fun' with all the storms (don't even think about jumping on that comment, you all know what I mean lol :-D)

    Well, here we are again, the nights are drawing in and the first cold pools of 850's are spilling there way into northern Siberia , so I thought I start this winter's thread :-) So we have the right upper air temps and the precipitation, so I think we should be seeing the first snowfalls of the 'winter' over the next few days in Siberia, albeit fleeting. Can't wait for the season to begin proper :-D Here is to a great, snowy winter ay?

    take video then. You can look back through and then capture the frames that have the lightning on. That's how I get mine, without having all the fancy equipment :-)

    I took this picture in December, just a few weeks before the pit was demolished entirely with 800 jobs going the same way. A sad scene, seeing the main industry in the area vanish, leaving shattered communities all over our area, that never really did well after the last bout of pit closures. Anyway, I took rather a few of the sky that day, because there was a 'dog sun' in the sky and a storm coming in.. What do you guys think?

    Can we not split the regions up again? It's too broad an area? I mean, Wales is mountainous and they don't get the same weather as in Dorset. It's annoying that we cannot be a region again? Heck, during cold spells, we even split into east and west Midlands? Ok, so the threads may be a bit dead at this time of year, but what's the harm?

    Just mooching the latest charts and the NW ones for thursday seem to show temps getting down to 2'c over parts of eastern England and Lincs? Both the min and max show 2'c. Is there a chance of it actually getting that cold in late June?

    Well, just had a small shower here! Not enough to lay the dust, but enough to hear falling on the leaves and roofs etc
