And here comes the blue sky…30 minutes before sunset . A really sharp line of cloud now clearing to the south. I really hope no pesky cloud ruins tomorrow’s forecasted sunshine. ??

Disappointingly cloudy again here in Surbiton, turned almost quite gloomy now. Cloud radar suggests there won’t be much of an improvement for a while

We had some really torrential rain here about 30 minutes ago, now moderate to heavy rain with increasingly close flashes of lightning and rolling thunder. Finally some actual weather in Surbiton!!

After a bit of brightness this afternoon the first rain band has passed through - we’ve now got quite a nice display of Undulatus (I think) clouds over Surbiton. ??????????????

Variable amounts of cloud but much improved today and feeling warm. It’s not enjoyed by many but I actually really like the muggy feeling today!

Yep it really is. Yet another gloomy sunless morning here. The relentless cloud and suppressed temperatures are beyond tedious. We’ve really only had a couple of weeks worth of summery weather so far this year, very poor indeed.

Not especially windy here, just grey, gloomy and drizzly. Utterly dismal for July

Totally agree. The lack of thunderstorms is particularly noticeable. I think May 2018 was the last time I’ve had anything more than a passing thundery shower with a couple of flashes. Nighttime storms seems to have become extinct in London. The relentless cloud is particularly tedious this summer.

Yet another day with all the thundery action way north and west of London, becoming tediously common now. Pleasant enough in the sun today and it’s been mostly dry but another week of cloudy wet dross and cool temperatures coming up. I really hope the models are still looking encouraging for an improvement later in the month ????

A very nondescript weather day. Cloudy but quite bright, below par temperatures but does feel pleasant enough out and about. Very boring weather really!

The sun is making an appearance in Surbiton…although it’s still raining! Looks like another blob of rain is heading this way. Frustrating for Wimbledon.

Despite the dreariness the humidity makes it feel quite warm outside and it has stayed mostly dry all day here. But it’s yet another completely sunless day, does seem like we’ve had way too many of these this month.

Another East Sussex/Kent event. What do we have to do to get a decent thunderstorm in south west London? I think I’d have to go back to the amazing storms of May 2018 for the last decent nighttime storm.

Just had a nice little hail shower pass through Surbiton, hail up to pea size! Didn’t last long and very localised looking at the radar. Showers seemed to have perked up over the last hour.

One of those blobs moving out of central London just passed over Surbiton. Really nice big flakes and quite heavy but only lasted barely a minute. You could see the snow floating about in the sky above before it suddenly arrived.

Seems that just as the streamer starts getting its act together it shifts north of here. Doesn’t look like there’s much more accumulating snow now south of the river.

Bigger flakes with light snow and small grains in the occasional more moderate bursts. Definitely more of a covering now than the dusting we had a couple of hours ago. The heavier bursts just don’t last long enough to really build up the accumulation though oh, and the home & dry radar app is not updating again

Finally getting some more moderate decent snow now in Surbiton which has quickly turned everything white. Very fine grainy flakes,

The snow to the east of London seems to be stubbornly refusing to cross the M25. Not expecting anything from it here now this far west

Light snow in Surbiton but much bigger flakes than this morning. Is it just me or is the radar starting to perk up a bit? ????
