  1. Morning All, an overcast and drizzly start to the day, after an overnight low of 3.8°C at: 03:48, currently 7.5°C, RH97% and light air movement from the SW. From Above, plenty of cloud around On Golden sands, not a lot of breakers here this morning
  2. Well the Kingfisher's seem to think Spring has already begun. Slimbridge sees earliest ever nesting kingfishers after mild winter WWW.BBC.CO.UK The bird species do not usually start building their nests until early March.
  3. A cool wet Spring on the cards? Noteworthy warmth drawing to a close as temperatures fall closer to normal next week WWW.NETWEATHER.TV Despite forecasts for a colder weather in February shaped by Greenland blocking highs, very mild conditions have prevailed so far, especially in southern Britain, putting the month on track to be one of the warmest...
  4. After earlier drizzle, it's been mild and dry for the rest of the day, the sea temperature currently in the normal range at 9.5 °C, so a fair few folks trying their luck on the baby rollers.
  5. Morning All. patchy light rain and drizzle as the decaying cold front moves through. The overnight low of 6.7°C at: 03:23 has risen to 10.1°C, RH95% and light air movement from the WNW. From Above On Golden sands
  6. Has been hasn't it, the dogs have been laying in the warm sunshine, just loving it, but I was loading the car for a "dump run" and down came the drizzle, not for to long though.
  7. offerman Oh no, you mean, more rain? CC UK winters seem to be aligned to this sorta stuff. Whether you believe in CC or not, it's difficult to argue after the current winter failure, as none of the models were picking this up from a long term perspective. So, so much talk last November about a back end loaded winter for the UK, hmm....
  8. jtay Most of the crocus are out now, so avoiding that bit. Are you not in to selling Safron to make money?
  9. Morning All, you can certainly see why the MetO went yellow and nailed it last night, with the amount of rainfall overnight/early this morning, exactly as the WXcharts showed from an ECM perspective, with 29.6mm here. A mild night with the low of 10.2°C at: 01:28, currently 12.4°C, RH97% with light air movement from the W, and mainly clear sky. From Above On Golden sands
  10. Currently not looking as though it's going to do vey much across the area. Have MetO goofed again? Unless there's more lurking at the back end of this. It may be a convoluted story:
  11. Afternoon All, a drizzly ol' day, after an overrnight low of 8.6°C at: 00:00, which has risen and now fallen back to 10.7°C, RH97% with a light breeze from the S, under an overcast sky. From Above On Golden sands, footie anyone?
  12. Hmm, the local rag sugests the timing to be a LOT longer, based upon the MetO warnings posted which suggest: The local warning suggests: The yellow alert, which includes Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole and the rest of the county, will be in force from 3pm on Saturday, February 17. It will last until 8pm on Sunday, February 18. That just looks wrong when checking the various models for local conditions.
  13. *Stormforce~beka* Cloudy and cold here at just 12c A peak of 12.4°C at: 12:22, currently 11.3°C, still Tshirt and shorts weather, glad to be out of jeans and coat that I was wearing on holiday. Mind you wife says to me "Shorts and T's" I said "AND?". She thinks I'm mad, but, maybe I am. Annual attire Unless we see a beast from the East, so I think I'm safe this year, and next and.... ECM suggests little along the lines of cold.
  14. Morning All, a mild night with the overnight low of 7.4°C at: 06:52, currently 10.6°C, RH91% and a light breeze from the NW, under mainy cloudy sky, with patchy drizzle. From Above On Golden sands, the folks on the beach watching the shower offshore.
  15. *Stormforce~beka* We are 20 years in so well past it then lol We are 53years in, and ceased supporting these "special" days. At this time of year bunches of daffodils means I remain to be fed and watered by my other half! The roses will arrive in the garden in a few months time.
  16. Morning All, passing light shower just cruised through. The overnight low of 10.7°C at: 06:11 has eased slowly up to 13.1°C, RH90% with a light breeze in from the SE. From Above On Golden sands Looking fairly shabby in Cornwall then Devon and South Wales today.
  17. jy Nice Valentines afternoon tea.Cakes and scones returned home in boxes very filling but very nice.There...men can be romantic lol! Red rose clinched firmly with the teeth I trust?
  18. Of note we get an "extra" day of winter this time, I wonder how much difference that might make (another rainy day)? Also means Spring will be delayed 24hours. ECMWF doesn't suggest much change, a slight decrease in temps GFS follows along
  19. Morning All, a wet start to the day, currently drizzling as the main area of rain has moved out east. The overnight low of 10.8°C at: 04:06 has scrambled up to 11.3°C, RH97% and a light breeze in from the SW. On Golden sands
  20. Managed to scrub the patio today in the pouring rain, at least it's lifted some of the algae and looks a tad bit cleaner, next is to apply some proper algae cleaner in the spring once the rainy season eases, slightly. Which given the current suggestion of a technical SSW, suggests it could be a damp prolonged winter to summer, Spring may return next year.
