  1. Morning All, an overcast start to the day after the rain overnight, with the overnight low of 5.0°C at: 00:08, currently 9.8°C, RH96%, and a fresh breeze in from the WSW.
  2. No, storm ISHA is still developing way out in the Atlantic at the moment. What you will be / are experiencing is this cold front coming in overnight, as has been forecasted. Looking at the chart, it suggests the wind strength dropping back once the cold front moves through. ISHA is still well out, as can be seen on the fax chart: And developing nicely on the global view: Stepping through the fax chart you can see the progression into later tomorrow for ISHA: Midday Sunday Midnight Sunday THEN, the next inbound deepening low (not expected to be as deep as ISHA) gets ready to have a go after ISHA: Midday Monday Midnight Monday to Tuesday Tuesday Midday
  3. Morning All, a grey start to the day heralding more akin to January weather later in the weekend and through the week, of course I am talking winds and rain. I think the cold weather in the US will have a lot to answer for by the end of this week, through the increased speed of the jet stream. Anyway, it is what it is, the overnight low a mild 0.3°C at: 00:00, currently 6.1°C, RH76% with a fresh breeze in from the SW. From Above On Golden sands, already a fair amount of white water
  4. 11am this morning the wind turned from the colder air source in the N, back to the traditional SW, and then started to increase in strength.
  5. Morning All, another glorious start to the day, after an overnight low of -6.9°C at: 07:52, currently 1.7°C, RH86% and no breeze. From Above On Golden sands
  6. Did considering doing it many years ago, bought the equipment to build my own setup, but time got the better of me as did the Internet, providing most of what I was looking for. Now of course the Raspberry Pi seems a good core for such a project, unfortunately it was a passing interest, now satiated by the availability online of images from Global satellites.
  7. Buffalo, New York state was hammered yesterday, with lake effect snows, expected to deliver about 2ft of snow to the area as heavy bands of snow passed through. 'A living hell': South Buffalo neighbors digging out after receiving five feet of snow WWW.WKBW.COM The National Weather Service says the South Buffalo community received 60.5 inches, or more than five feet of snow during this week's lake effect event.
  8. As noted above the colder air has returned to Levi this morning, with a cracking low temperature
  9. A fine cracking sunny and clear skies yet fresh start to the day, after the overnight low of -5.4°C at: 06:41, currently -0.5°C, RH 76% and light breeze from the NNW - N. From Above the showers running down the western fringes Meanwhile on Golden sands
  10. Open plan offices are great for spreading germs with people walking around coughing and sneezing. the one I worked in had 12people with a range of 10ft around me, and as you say the small meeting rooms used to cram as many people in as possible for video calls were ridiculous in size. The aircon was cold on the top floor and warmer each floor you descended. Not to be missed, now I have my own space, and time to spend as much as I want outside in fresh air.
  11. Wait for the phone calls to the emergency services, from people saying they've just seen a green space rocket cross the sky..Pictures?
  12. Seems as though we are back to the overcast solution today, after an overnight low of -0.9°C at: 01:16 (well dome MetO for your accuracy!), currently 1.9°C, RH82%, and light air movement from the E. From Above Meanwhile on Golden sands, waving to Irene as she passes
  13. Wednesday AM, and we have a declared winner. If you picked the RED line as the predicted snowfall limit from Storm Irene, then And for that your prize is BECAUSE today there are NO Unless you live in the South east area (computer created prediction)
  14. You best get down there, and get your place, it's gonna be mad in a few hours, with most of Cornwall & Devon missing out.
  15. You can't beat a 14day out, to get people excited until they get burnt AGAIN , and AGAIN, maybe we should relabel it to the Ariston thread, as they said in the advert "It goes on and on and on...."
  16. The temperature slower to drop tonight, with the wind now firmly in from the SSW, as suggested earlier on the Met Off video still, it could well struggle to get down to 0°C tonight along the coast, currently 2.3°C.
