Morning All, so Spring has a 100% wet start, a good way to follow a wet winter! The overnight low of 0.5°C at: 06:04 has risen to 5.8°C, RH87% with a light breeze in from the SW. From Above, the radar confirms the partially cloudy start this morning along the coast. On Golden sands nice patches of blue sky

Beka when they are this large and bigger you probably don't want hail. Having sat inside a brand new jeep that was pounded by large hail, it ended up with every panel beaten in, + a very mutilated windscreen. Great fun though! As to the car the rental guy commented "Got caught in the hail didya?". I suspect it was sold off quickly.

Morning All, Spring has sprung with a leak! Glad to see the MetO yellow warning has been removed, as it's pleasantly sunny down here. The overnight low of 1.5°C at: 00:37 and the current temp is 7.2°C but some windchill attached to that with the fresh breeze in from the W - SW. RH81% and 6.3mm of rainfall. From Above, Inbound showers for later by the look of that On Golden Sands, a couple of hardy folks braving the surf.

Confused as I posted earlier the expectation from ECM was for the rain to pass through overnight hours around 3am. Then tomorrow was looking like this: From GFS it was looking like this: UKV has this for tomorrow And add GEFS to that we have: Now we have 5 possibilities, yer takes yer choice... So that would suggest the MetO are in agreement with the GEFS/GFS forecast rather than the ECMWF.

Morning All, at least this is the day in February that it can rain. Happy Birthday any leaplings As for the weather, well it seems to be a groundhog day, with the overnight high of 9.9°C at: 05:27 being followed by the low of 7.7°C at: 08:08 due to the wind direction changing in from the N. RH97% and light air movement from the SW. From Above On Golden sands a calm channel and interesting cloudbase And this is being saved for later tonight

Ah well, at least good riddance to a mild and wet winter 2023 / 2024, and thank goodness we took everything that was thrown at us about association of typical events tied in with an El Nino winter in the UK, and all the hype about the winter being back end loaded for colder weather. Just goes to show we have a looooong way to go with seasonal forecasting yet.

IanCD Ian it was moving east, but it was the top half of a low pressure area, which spins anti clockwise. So imagine a spinning top spinning anticlockwise as it moves across the floor, it kept moving East but had the northern part of the low across the area, which needed to clear. So it kept going for quite sometime (as expected to be honest). BTW we have more rain forecast later this week so I'd suggest getting the car where it needs to be before we hit our next inbound lows on Thurs and Friday (with some rain on Weds).
