Exactly what I was thinking as the GFS does seem to have a habit of doing that.
i think it did that earlier this year when it kept reverting back to an atlantic dominated theme because that's its general setup but the atlantic took a while to take back over!

Chucking it down and heard some rumbles of thunder! It feels like an evening in the summer! Not mid October!

It's on! Been on for 2 days now! Hadn't looked at the weather for a while and this forum, came as a surprise yesterday when it never got warm!

CFS continuing its -NAO theme at present. Offers us a nice December on this run..

Me and my friends were also talking about this about 2 and a half hours ago! All of us were at the pub and it had got dark at 20:45 we weren't expecting it to get dark until around half 9ish completely forgot how the nights are starting to draw in! I'm glad someone started a thread an now I know it wasn't just us who'd noticed.

Had some amazing lightning and thunder the other night! The whole street was up! There was one which felt like a bomb had gone off! The next day in the leicester mercury we found out why it was so loud! It hit a house just down the road from us! Never heard anything like it!

It must have been about a month since it rained here! It's either been snow or bone dry.

I'm going away to Portugal in 2 weeks! Is our current cold spell having an effect on their weather? is it likely to be alot colder than normal there? I've been looking at the charts and can't really work it all out!

Just been up near Hoby if you know where that is and there was pretty heavy snow there! not far from you, it can't be long until you see some!

Went first week in May a couple of years ago and it was 27'c+ every day.
Went last month and it was 18'c+ with unbroken sunshine most days.

Hello! i'm off to the Algarve in april! I've been a couple of times but never this time of year! I've had a look around and all the sites keep saying avg max 20c but I have visited in december-jan a few years in a row and that seems to be their winter average!? Has anyone been this time of year? I am hoping for strong sunshine and warm/hot temps.

Haha I wish! Did you see the snow this morning, I say this morning but it was about 5am, I woke up for the loo and seen it was snowing! I honestly can't believe how much snow there has been over the last week and a half!

Like being in a different country living by j23 M1...been thawing here all day everywhere wet and dripping.
Still +0.4c here...must be the Hills of the Charnwood Forest keeping the Snow showers away.
Just checked with a mate in Mountsorrel it`s -0.1 c there and in Coalville it`s -1.1c there yet i`m above freezing here !!??
Maybe your thermometer is out by half a degree, then saying that if it's been melting all day then probably not. Just unlucky I guess. Move 2 miles towards the centre of leicester and you'd be fine haha!

Love the charts! As said above the models are starting to agree on something definitely cooler than of late! I just hope it keeps edging closer and closer as the runs go on and not staying in FI and playing with us for a few weeks like it's done countless times!
