  1. Weather... Absolute rubbish - this is now day 3 of the worst summer ever!! heavy rain, mist and almost a gale.. give me 19C and sunny intervals any day!! for 95% of the population.. apart from us lot in scotland and N Ireland - enjoy your continuing summer!!! we have had NO summer here at all!
  2. Well... while the south may have a had a good summer - almost BBQ, its been a disaster up north.. the latest models suggest that nothing will change over the last 10 days in August.. total rubbish, cloudy damp and just not summer Is this why so many people live in the south of the UK?
  3. agree its been terrific so far with lots of sun and heat, bring on the misty damp windy weather we all love so well!
  4. What do these charts look like this morning !? more akin to late November than end of August.. what is noticeable is the increase in deeper lows and the speed of transit across the atlantic, accompanied by frequent 'colder' transitions across the whole country. The biggest change is wind strength for everyone.. the first true gales of Autumn are now knocking on the door.. goodbye hanging baskets
  5. July was complete crap - it rained for 27 days out of 31... for the first 15 days of August it has rained 11 days out of 15, so on par with July this is pretty good... but lets face it the weather this summer has been total and utter rubbish!!... you lot in England live a charmed life with warm temperatures over 20C days on end.. we have had 4 days at 20C in the last 6 weeks.. thats the difference between the North and South of this country!
  6. Rained most of night, still cloudy and wet presently.. a totally dreadful 48 hours... will we see the first glimpse of the sun in 3 days?? remember its mid august...get me out of here!
  7. no sun at all, cloudy and breezy rain rain forecast today temperature 14C the rubbish summer continues
  8. Looks like a complete washout for scotland and northern ireland... fully expect upto 3 inches of rain in next 72 hours!!....the summer continues further south.. incredible the difference a few hundred miles can make to weather... For us northerners.. charts paint a miserable picture for the rest of August.. the rubbish summer theme continues.. and the number of rain days keeps mounting up
  9. WELL WELL, no rain - 1st day in 3 weeks!! actually I would call it the first summers day since first week in July!! about 20C little wind and good sunny spells... wonders will never cease!
  10. dry at last, very wet and windy all day, still blowing a gale!! but now 17C and bright
  11. 1st day in last 3 weeks with sunshine at 9.30am............ guess what - it is to rain again, its rained here 27 days in last 31... must be a record!
  12. we had 27 wet days in July - this was pretty spectacular - I hope we get the same the in August!! as I don't like things to change that much.... dry... roll on wet wet wet .. I must have been a slug in another life!
  13. ******* WORST DAY OF THE SUMMER - BY FAR!! ************ Rain started about 10am this morning - by mid afternoon steady moderate rain and a gale blowing , early evening heavy driving rain and a full on gale!! Absolutely crap weather for the last day in July!! or mid summer!! Maximum temperature about 13C - feels like 5 C So you lot over in england - don't complain ever - 150 miles NE of you crowd its atrocious- give me what you have been getting any day!! so far in July rain days 23 days over 20C just 1 pathetic - get me out of here now!! a tad frustrated - as are my hanging baskets!
  14. Morning the general rubbish theme is now set in stone. Cool north/north westerlies are looking to predominate for forseable future, So no heat wave. If this was winter... just imagine!! seriously bad summer charts, must put those shorts away.. wore them 3 times in ealy july
  15. What absolutely awful charts.... the most surprising thing looking towards the next few weeks is the enormous spread of cool temperatures that are setting in, way way below normal across not just us but most of North, West and central Europe. Surely this model cannot occur, its as if we have move forward 4 months to mid November!! average maximums in the north only around 11 C and in the south 14C, On the positive, no bad air quality as we will be living in POLAR air!! Just dreadful... dreadful.. dreadful if you like summer that is
  16. *** WARNING WARNING ******** Don't look at the models this morning..... they paint the worst summr picture imaginable! Temperatures: About 3 C below normal for the next 2 weeks Sunshine: Difficult but we are looking at <50% of average Winds: More like late October, from N/NE, extremely strong for time of year!! goodbye Plants! Rainfall: Some places receving>4 inches in next 2 weeks Where are we? Britain of course and when, Middle of July Global warming.. what a load of tosh!
  17. quite simply...these are the worst charts for midsummer I can ever remember!!! against all fundamentals they are dreadful...July now lookong a complete washout with successive low after low bringing in showers galore.. also becoming increasingly cooler as we drag in air from the North pole!! the jet is also moving south now, so chances of it being pushed back way to the north during august are fading fast... august also looking bleak
  18. if it is summer you are looking for.. best to avoid the UK over the next week or two.. plenty of heavy showers to come, with at best mediocre temperatures for mid July. Not even a suggestion of hot weather anywhere on the models, so bring out the brolley!! I guess is won't rain all the time, but the theme of the last two summers continues into 2009, our early heat wave will be the memory for 2009. Ah well..
  19. what a downward spiral on the models.... the charts look more autumnal now.. LP after LP to our west moving and becoming centred more or less slap bang over us... also dragging in cool if not cold weather... which is being fed by a long stretch from the far north.. as for the weather - showers or longer spells of rain.. expect some very large totals over the coming 2 weeks - temperatures: subdued and never quite achieving normal in the NW, as ever the SE will experience the odd warmer interludes - winds, depending on where those LPs are... general breezy from SW - sun... early morning then forget it as the clouds and showers get going.. quite depressing especially after our early summer which is now a distant memory welcome to Britain in the global warming period... tis a joke really
  20. I don't live there, but currently the Isle of Man is 25C , surely the isle of man cannot be the warmest place in the UK? is there a big pocket of warm air in the middle of the Irish sea? currently 26C in co down... this is the warmest temperature for the past 3 years!!... simply incredible!!
  21. Our average 20C per year is about 5. Usually don't see 20C until late July!! highest so far this year is a meagre 16.1C, with only 4 days over 14C!! so it is a nonsense - this spring has been bloomin cold and miserable.. only starts to warm up around mid June in N Ireland you live a charmed life- you English ones
  22. oh dear.. 5.8C so cold...................again
  23. Snow now over, we had about 3 hours of steady stuff.. very dry and fluffy at start then it turned a bit wet snow later.. now stopped , temperatures on rise and snow melting fun while it lasted
  24. My goodness.. it has been snowing for 2 hours - about 2 inches outside... the most since Xmas day 3 years ago!!! yes enough to make a snow ball... incredible we are only 5 m above sea level here...
  25. So far this has been pretty ordinary = yes colder than recent years - but hey thats wouldn't be difficult as for snow = a few flurries and one snowball made - yesterday morning- other than this no better than previous years
