It seems there are way more showers making it through to west of Glasgow than expected. We may much better than this than expected. There was zero forecast for snow today so that’s a good sign! No sign of any organised fronts coming off the east though very much “blobs” of precip more than anything sustained but plenty time for that to change I suspect! What is coming through is certainly of a fair intensity.

Well that was unexpected! Hopefully we can catch a few more of these rogue drifting snow clouds throughout the next few days as we are starved over here

This is going to be one of those bloody marginal events where we get no snow but Dick and Doris next door are out building socially distanced snowmen and sticking two up to me with an envious glare across. The neighbour wars began that day when a stray snawbaw whacked me on the derriere and I released the kids on covert operation of inter-gardenal espionage to carry out the hit on the snowmen, anyway I digress. In all seriousness, this is going to either be washout or a whiteout for many in my opinion! MetO showing rain for me here tomorrow. Toys and prams being armed and prepared.

Thursday does look promising, the models still supporting that. Let's see if we get further confirmation/confluence on the next update!

WELL, WELL!! This has been a pleasant surprise. Roads were a nightmare around Paisley/Johnstone this morning when I was dropping the wee one off to grandparents. The other being with us for home-schooling so I'll having snowball fights with him at lunch time Appears as though the council haven't really bothered to grit the roads?! Looks to me from the radar that there is plenty more to come from this yet today as precipitation keeps intensifying off the west coast as it moves around and inland. Just as it appears we may be coming to the finale, it intensifies again and looks like it is beginning to stall/circulate around the whole central belt! So much for working today.....

I like this explanation... Fronts are the division between air masses. A cold front is the leading edge of an advancing cold air mass and a warm front is the leading edge of an advancing warm air mass. The movement of these fronts depends only upon the cold air, not the warm air. Why? Well, cold air is heavier than warm air because its molecules are closer together and are more dense than the same volume of warm air. Therefore the cold air can "bully " the warm air.

Surely not! You think that’s likely? I don’t remember what caused that in 2010 too well as was out all day but was it a similar scenario to this?

Also I don’t get what they are bothered about? There is UHT milk in the other aisles and you can get other things instead of bread such as part baked rolls, toast pockets etc it’s just about being creative. It’s amazing, there was no milk in the local Morrison’s, yet the UHT milk hadn’t been touched. I was delighted at the snobbery
