  1. cheeky_monkey I would take a day of that after a crap snowless winter!
  2. Summer18 Yes, some places did get some snow that Easter. Darn sarth just heavy cold rain!
  3. Nah, surely a guess in the high 7's looks the best bet?!
  4. There was also the possibility of a 3rd BFTE later in March, with some very cold model outputs. However, it didn't come to fruition.
  5. sundog I wonder what the anomalies will look like in another 40 years?!
  6. Only very slight changes during the last 40 years.....
  7. Cheshire Freeze in the good ole days maybe! Nowadays? sundog I believe an active Hurricane season is expected, yes.
  8. summer blizzard looks like a bit of a crash!
  9. Only the mid month period, the rest of March 2023 was generally mild.
  10. They would be seen as dream winters these days with all the crap we have to endure now!
  11. *Stormforce~beka* perhaps in future they will offer holidays to the ISS space station. Defo no worries about cloud up there!
  12. You might be alright whilst you're flying at 35,000 feet above most clouds?! Destination, different matter!!
  13. A few photos from the Sunday, taken where I used to live in Ash, Surrey.
  14. I actually received a bit more snow from the 'mini' BFTE than the main event. Friday was very mild and sunny around 13C, but by Saturday morning, temperatures were close to zero with snow showers. Heavy snow was forecast for the afternoon and evening, but turned out to be mainly light, with the heavier stuff arriving during the early hours of Sunday morning. Sunday was cold and cloudy with temps barely above freezing and no thaw. There was a further period of snow during the evening. However, a thaw kicked in on Monday as temperatures recovered.
  15. Polar Maritime mowed the lawn for the first time last weekend and needs doing again!
  16. So, if we get a very cool and wet summer (highly unlikely), you won't mind me saying people are obsessed with hot weather when it comes to them looking for late summer warmth in September then?
  17. johncam April could be close to or a bit below average, but apart from that, no!
  18. A pretty safe bet these days and it's not like we've had a cold start to the year. 2024 likely to be the third year on the trot to have a CET of more than 11C?!
  19. I can't stop thinking that had this same winter occurred just 10 years ago, it would have been cold and unsettled with the jet further south, due to lower heights over Iberia?
  20. Yes, the upcoming Hurricane season could well be a whopper!
  21. *Stormforce~beka* Yes and that's why I don't like very high temperatures in this country because bar the odd exception, they come with high humidity!
