  1. TBH (and this is just my personal preference) if it's going to be wet, I would rather it be of the cool nature and not humid like this evening.
  2. Autumn to spring could well become 'the wet but mild season', whilst summer could be hot and dry moving forward? No one really knows just how climate change will affect our part of the world, except it will likely continue to warm!
  3. Humid this evening and feels more like summer than spring!
  4. Rain starting to arrive now, a little earlier than forecast.
  5. At 9.3C, I was only 0.3C out, so not a bad guess in the end. Glad I didn't revise it at the beginning of the month when I thought I may have gone way too low!
  6. Warm here this afternoon and have opened windows. Not wall to wall sunshine, but bright enough.
  7. Dry here this morning and fairly bright although again, not particularly sunny.
  8. Latest Metoffice contingency forecast covering the final month of spring and first two months of summer. https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/binaries/content/assets/metofficegovuk/pdf/business/public-sector/civil-contingency/3-month-outlook-may-june-july.pdf
  9. After a chilly start, this afternoon was warmish but sun never quite made an appearance. Back to rain this evening.....
  10. Another above average month for both temperature and rainfall. However, probably a drier month compared to recent. 12.9C and 80mm please.
  11. Addicks Fan 1981 SC25 has indeed been stronger than forecast and a more active cycle than 24. However, it is still in the weak category of solar cycles so far.
  12. Addicks Fan 1981 A moderate La Nina event looking likely on the latest CFSv2.
  13. Rather overcast this morning and decidedly chilly in the wind. Hints of blue sky now, but sun yet to be seen!
  14. Harry233 Yes, winter 2020/21 was great for northern UK and reasonable for southern UK.
  15. Summer8906 Yes, June 2013 was the final month of that sustained cold period with January to June all coming in below the 1961-90 average. Imagine the prospects of that happening now?! It flipped spectacularly after the opening days of July.
  16. B87 That forecast is subject to change anyway, could be sunnier than predicted or less sunny. We will just have to wait and see.
  17. B87 Looks very decent from Friday 3rd to me? No heatwave but after the last few weeks, that will be pleasant enough for most.
  18. Updated Metoffice outlook has dropped the possibility of a return to below average temperatures after next week and now going for average or slightly above.
  19. Weekend has not been as poor as I was expecting either. Yesterday (staying down south this weekend) was mainly overcast but the rain didn't arrive until late afternoon. Evening and overnight saw lots of rain, but after a showery start today, this afternoon has been ok with some sun, but feels more chilly than yesterday.
  20. No reason why this pattern will persist until June/July.
  21. Maybe drier but can't see us losing the warmer than average theme.
  22. *Stormforce~beka* And your point is?
  23. *Stormforce~beka* Even I'm forecast 15C on the UKV!
