  1. B87 Ok, that sounds about right for in and around London.
  2. No, but I wasn't necessarily referring to April though. I wouldn't say 14-15C is below average for mid April, even in this ever warming climate!
  3. Also had some nice snowy weather for some, including parts of the south, early and late in the month.
  4. Yep Depends on the time of year innit?!
  5. I remember a snow shower on the south coast in April 1999.
  6. If this was two months, we wouldn't be having northerlies!
  7. Maybe, just maybe my 9.3C guess isn't out of the question after all! However, still pretty unlikely.
  8. April 2021 was great, albeit could have been more snowy. However, the sunny and dry weather was brilliant and on some days pleasant enough not to require a jacket!
  9. There hasn't been a winter since March 2023 and might not be one next year either......
  10. WYorksWeather Nice day here overall, apart from a brief light shower this evening. Still mild too. Me neither, although yesterday was warm enough to consider it!
  11. Shillitocettwo That's the thing now, synoptics do not have to line up perfectly to achieve well above average temperatures! I think that whilst the SST's remain as warm as they are, it will be a challenge to get a month below the 1991-2020 average, let alone 1961-90!
  12. Derecho Yes, April 2011 maybe safe, but little to prevent this month from being significantly above average!
  13. That seems to have been a key theme so far this year, with most cold spells never quite materialising!
  14. I remember folk complaining at the time that summer 2002 was poor. I thought it was ok (albeit unremarkable) with an average June and July, followed by a pleasant August, after a wet start.
  15. Too late in the season to get excited about cold now, although any period of below average temperatures is something these days! However, warmth and sunshine (like today) would be pleasant!
  16. 2024 is significantly ahead of 2023 so far for the CET, so will need a fair few months ahead to be cooler than last year, if it's going to be a sub 11C year!
  17. Metwatch Yes my guess of 9.3C was dead in the water pretty quick!
  18. Ok, lets talk about coolest summers instead!!
  19. Summer8906 not 40C though, not even 37C! It had not been hotter than 2022 before Yes 1976 was hotter overall, but I think that record is on borrowed time now!
  20. We may as well not even bother looking for signs of cold during winter now, it would almost be as pointless as looking for it in July/August! Not that I necessarily disagree with you mind.
  21. I'm thinking a third 11C CET year on the trot is getting more and more likely and could well surpass 2022 and 2023, making it the warmest year on record!
  22. Or it will get watered down to the point where there won't even be a cooler spell at all?!
