  1. B87 For variety, spring 2018 was excellent with something for both cold and heat lovers. However, even for those who dislike cold, May made up for at least some of what March and April lacked. It seems to me that some are only focusing on poor periods during seasons, i.e. June and September last year seemingly ignored? I don't know of many cold seekers who claim winter 2010/11 was awful because following that brutal December, January 2011 was unremarkable and February very mild? Cold and snow was largely done for that winter after Boxing Day, but what occurred previously made it memorable!
  2. Metwatch Yes, it was pretty impressive how it almost went from winter to summer in a flash! Spring 2018 is certainly one I will always remember.
  3. Wade April 2018 had a hot spell and May was a very summery month, so I wouldn't call spring 2018 poor.
  4. raz.org.rain There you go, just shows how unlikely it would be (particularly in this day and age) not to reach 25C during summer, in fact I would go as far to say it would be virtually impossible now?!
  5. iand61 I would bite ones arm off for a winter 2020/21 repeat! I remember the morning the day the pub's reopened outside, there was a little snow where I was at the time, but most of all was sitting outside that evening at the pub, which was a challenge to say the least! The patio heaters were not up to the job!
  6. SunnyG Winter is not here to stay because there hasn't been one!!
  7. Oh sorry, just that I thought with you having wind, you may have wanted to open the windows! Not sure you can say they're overrated temperature wise, no matter how brief?!!
  8. Feels milder today with less wind but also less sun!
  9. iand61 Looks awesome. Rounded off a decent winter for you then!
  10. I'll be absolutely staggered if we don't! I think we will hit 25C during the 2nd half of May.
  11. Squally77 When I sat out in the pub garden in the sun, it was actually very pleasant and didn't need a coat. However, I had one with me as it soon got cold once the sun went down!
  12. I wish we were seeing posts like this from you 2-4 months ago!
  13. It would seem that exceptionally warm temperatures always manage to make their way back, no matter what.....
  14. Although the winter coat remains away (for now!) it has felt decidedly chilly the last couple of days. However, at least it has been fairly bright and sunny between the showers!
  15. *Stormforce~beka* Well, what's the preference then, furnace summers or cool summers?!
  16. raz.org.rain wouldn't surprise me in the slightest!
  17. B87 July 2023 wasn't dire for my location (albeit not great) and think of the likes of July 2007, 2008 and much of 2012 being worse. August 2008 was definitely worse than 2023 and most certainly a dire month and probably the worst summer month I remember! Also, June is a summer month and was the hottest on record, so surely that counts for something and then we had September? Anyway, I suspect we will have to agree to disagree.
  18. Azazel I can't agree that summer 2023 was awful, with the hottest June on record and while July and August were by no means great, I have certainly known worse in the last 20 years. September 2023 (whilst not technically summer) was also the hottest on record.
  19. Azazel we had a hot summer only two years ago, a bit early to be concerned for the long term?
