August 2008 was the worst I can remember and was particularly bad in the west country. Had a two week holiday in Cornwall and it was a complete washout with only one genuine decent day!
B87 I'm dreading a two week period without any rain as we will have to start thinking about a drought situation with potential hose pipe bands and stand pipes etc!
Meanwhile, a very misty and murky evening here. Beware of the bogey man everyone!
Early April 6th 2008 saw a few inches of snow in the south and although it had almost all gone by mid afternoon, temperatures didn't exceed 2C in places. Now, that is exceptional!
Me neither?!
Just has well it didn't cool down that much in autumn and winter then!
After a slightly wet start today, has been largely dry but rather overcast.
*Stormforce~beka* blimey, I would have sweated buckets if I had gone out in a winter coat and scarf today! In fact, I would have probably fainted!
I should think so!
Yes and what is concerning is that we had an April only 3 years ago that was almost 1.5C below the 1961-90 average! Has the climate changed that much in such a short space of time?!
Weather Enthusiast91 I think there's a fair chance I may see a 20C Christmas day in my lifetime, although I hope not! I think the way things are currently though, you will be pretty close to the mark for 2114!
Been a very decent day here. Not always wall to wall sunshine but very pleasant and was fine in a t-shirt on my walk.
Definitely and a great day to get out and about! Tomorrow is looking similar.
B87 I suppose with August 1998 coming so soon after 1995 and with the previous August being the 2nd hottest on record, perhaps I'm not giving it as much credit it deserves?!
