Still appears to be moving east. Think we might actually see something from this.
-
snowing nicely here now
Good to see that, is it settling?
-
PPN in the Bristol Channel is intensifying every frame. Be nice to have some unexpected snow, even if it is light.
-
I'm referring more to Devon, lowland Southern Somerset and southern coastal areas.
AWD, is there much chance of the ppn building in the bristol channel getting as far as the west country? Will it even fall as snow if it did?
-
Just ran the net weather radar and some of that ppn in the Bristol channel seems to be intensifying and heading directly towards the east of our region
Unexpected Bristol channel streamers are the best, here's hoping
-
After watching the BBC National forecast, I'm kinda glad that there's so much uncertainty because it didn't look great (IMBY). However Somerset looked like it was in the firing line, so I expect some on here would bank that forecast.
But I'm sure something completely unexpected will happen in a scenario like this.
-
lets hope it perks up and spreads
-
heavy light very tiny flakes of snow south bristol giving a sugar coating on melted bits of surfaces
-
Looks like cornwall is going to get pasted, worth the wait
-
Is this band of ppn more intense than expected? I'm surprised MetO haven't put out any warnings for Cornwall and the far SW.
-
I wish that heavy band of ppn approaching the SW would continue on that same track, but I'm guessing that it's very unlikely otherwise MetO would have a warning out. Anyway, I genuinely hope you folks in Cornwall see something from it.

Just got in from a long day, what's the latest for Tuesday?
-
snow grains in ashton south bristol
-
Certainly has, the severe and exciting weather tends to bring me back - you can be rest assured of that
What are your thoughts for tuesday? Or is it too far out to say yet
-
on bbc2 now winter of 1963
sungirl beat me to it
-
Be interesting to see if they mention this in the forecast tonight, or even hint at the potential of snow on Tuesday.
-
GFS decays the second front a little, but still brings a narrow band of heavy PPN up from the SW;
And with the cold air still in place;
This would easily fall as snow, as shown below;
Remember, detail like positioning and intensity irrelevant at this stage. Just look for the trend of PPN being present.
This looks promising, especially since MetO have backed this up by changing to heavy snow on tuesday
-
hoping cornwall , devon , get a good dumping of snow monday to turn all southwest white
-
Wouldnt big change rule out snow?
-
Look at gfs repeat performance monday anyone?
From the forecasts I've seen, they've all hinted at snow on Monday but haven't really gone into much detail understandably. Obviously things can change but looking good on the latest GFS as you said, bring it on
-
Oh well, there's still a possibility of more snow on Monday to look forward to:
-
Looks like gfs has got the low going more east now for sunday, Doh!
Just noticed this myself..
Oh well, I'm happy with my 12cm
-
Anybody from Devon getting snow right now? Those showers look pretty beefy are they supposed to die out or something?
-

Most of my memorable snow events have been from BC streamers, hope this is another one!
