That's what I was thinking for Port Talbot if you understood my post... but never mind all. (by the way not much here compared to some places like you Adam, hell of a battle to stick initially. Altitude make a difference)
Not really looking forward to this event... looking margin for me and West Wales later on Tuesday. Even today West Wales temps seem a little high. I'd rather it stay cold and dry to keep existing snow cover... temps are rising and thawing is taking place. Snow won't stick anywhere really apart from existing snow (which won't last long if we get a wash out)
thought so, preferred the other picture though. Back on topic currently very light snow, not expecting much unless some stuff near Hampshire makes it here and peps up.
Same here... if it was a little heavier then it would be a whole different story. It was settling very well early and the main road has patches of snow. I've noticed that about 4 or 5 cars the snow has thawed on the windscreen :S Oh and who is that with the red hair in your Avatar Marcus_S?
Okay, it's disgusting the amount some people are paid but that's just life... pathetic. Maybe other may do a better job but forecasting isn't easy... they're covering their arses most of the time and next week can anyone have confidence at what the situation will be? no, so leave them cover themselves... it's better than not putting warnings out and having chaos. I have experienced heavy snow and accumulation with no warnings before, that's the problems the Met Office need to sort out.
Fair enough they made a mistake but as all of you know forecasting here is extremely difficult... we have to refer to these forums and nowcasting to give us some idea and at the same time using our local knowledge and even then things change and go wrong. People over at the Met Office will make some mistakes, like people in the real world do, like people on this forum do.
Trying it's hardest to accumulate on surfaces with no snow and ice but isn't doing very well
So why is the radar complete trash today? seems inaccurate
Agh jeez.. just relised I have my AS ICT Exam Monday afternoon.... Please tell me it will not be snowing Monday afternoon? I really need to get to this and I hope the roads will be okay (usually are here but the further inland where campus is it gets worse)
Okay, so I've been back and fore all day here and checked a couple of forecasts.. so can someone tell me what is going to happen here in Carms? I really don't know, I've just seen lots of messy predictions and would like some confidence in a forecast from someone?
Just got back from Carmarthen... they have resorted to using gravel/chipins around the town as Adam mentioned.. Some parts on the journey home was -6C in the car (But I think the car over does it) Anyway, very cold.
Don't think it will be bad at all really. The motorways should be no problem at all unless the snow sticks for a while and accumulations beat the grit (not that there is much grit left )
Be careful and make a wise decision tomorrow?
Nope, lovely and sunny. Went for a driving lesson and headed for Llanelli, still some snow/ice on the beach car park/that area.
Another snow day here, and probably tomorrow, and hopefully Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
I don't think there is conspiracy not to show Snow over Wales lol. That's a bit over the top. They're just showing whatever model and outcome the forecaster has decided to show. Ignore it and resort to this forum thread and nowcasting
