  1. I, for one, anticipate the publication of this with genuine interest - I only understand the most basic principles and have learned a great deal thanks to the hard work of youself and others here. Many thanks. Merry Christmas, Mike.
  2. True Nick - agree with all of that. Kind regards, Mike Edit 12.02 p.m.- How right you were Nick - well done and thanks,
  3. UKMO have now removed the snow warning for tomorrow, Sorry. Regards, Mike
  4. Indeed - it's a job I wouldn't fancy,even today. Kind regards, Mike
  5. Who'd have thought this would be the case ten days ago? Regards, Mike.
  6. The 528 dam line stays way to the south on the fax charts - looks promising! Regards, Mike.
  7. Hi Isaac, Look for 528 dam lines: ''Cold, polar air has low thickness, and values of 528 dam or less frequently bring snow to the UK. Conversely, warm, tropical air has high thickness, and values in excess of 564 dam across the UK often indicate a heatwave. '' Cheers and a Merry Christmas, Mike.
  8. They tend not to update too often - I'm not sure of the exact times. Can anyone help? Regards, Mike.
  9. Hi Gavin. True, but he did say that the uncertainty at this range is great. Like yourself though I hope he's right. Kind regards, Mike.
  10. Nice set of fax charts today (to my eyes at least). http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=charts;type=fax;sess= Regards, Mike.
  11. A curious pattern of strikes emerging here... http://www.meteorologica.info/freedata_lightning.htm That north to south pattern doesn't correspond to the rainfall radar to my eyes. Strange - or just a simple mistake by moronic me! Regards, Mike.
  12. I find this radar link useful Barbmac - hope you do too. http://www.raintoday.co.uk/ Kind regards, Mike.
  13. Something promising(?) for us.... http://www.raintoday.co.uk/ Regards, Mike.
  14. Light rain here and very humid. Seems like showers could pop up here later/ Kind regards, Mike.
  15. On idae. Olny wish I could eb more hlepful! Regrads, Mike.
  16. Hi, everybody. Long time since I've posted - been a bit poorly. Been following this thread with interest and a big thanks to all the regulars for keeping us so well informed. Looks good on the convection front for the north west on Sunday: maybe a bit will come our way down into Brummieland! Kind regards, Mike.
  17. I can, Stephen. 1963! I'm getting too old for all this!! Looks like an interesting few days but I think it's too marginal to call here in the Midlands. Kind regards, Mike.
  18. Absolutely agree, Shugee. See News International (the Sun, News Of The World, The Times, Sky T.V. etc., prop. Rupert Murdoch esq.) for similar 'money saving' wheezes! Kind regards, Mike.
  19. Well said, WIB. As a frequent reader and infrequent contributor to the model threads, I , like yourself, get very frustrated with this attitude. My take on this week, after a quick shufty at the fax charts, is that we are in for an interesting week, not least because I live right on Steve Murr's* imaginary line! Thanks, as always, to the experienced posters (you all know who you are!). Kind regards, Mike. *Edit: Apologies. That should be Nick F.
  20. Agreed, jukebox: very odd. However, it's snowing quite nicely here now, so I'm happy with that. Regards, Mike.
  21. It's very strange that the Met Office are saying rain has fallen at Coleshill in the last few hours..... http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/wm/wm_latest_weather.html ...when, a few miles down the road where I live we've had fairly decent if insubstantial snowfall for the past few hours. Regards, Mike.
  22. Looking at........................ http://www.raintoday.co.uk/ and..................... http://www.xcweather.co.uk/ I'd guess that we are in for a lot more than the UKMO has forecast. Who'd do their job in a setup like this? Regards, Mike.
  23. Yes, Conor, quite good for today.................... http://www.raintoday.co.uk/ ........and the fax charts hold much promise too, particularly the 60 hour chart ............. http://www.netweathe...;type=fax;sess= Regards, Mike.
