  1. With some northern blocking now starting to show on the models, and cold pools appearing to our East, lets have a guess at where and when the first lowland snow cover will happen.. Here,s my guess.. East Anglia arround the 28th November..
  2. mine was recorded at 14.30 today an impressive 16.3 after an overnight low of 3.8. I expect next weekend will remind us how quickly winter can return if it wants to.
  3. I think March will produce more record breaking snow falls, more especially in the East / South East early and again later in the month, mid month will produce some very cold days and exceptional severe overnight frosts, be warned this mild spell is not the end of our winter.I know March is not a winter month, but this year the potential is soo high i feel it will be better than the 3 winter month put together. My prediction is 3.2 CET.
  4. Currently 2.9c with a strong bitter Easterly here at Lowestoft. i will feel the full force of the Easterly tomorrow as i will be sea fishing at Dunwich, i would think the wind chill would be about -5c by tomorrow if not a bit lower. i think that by the time we get through the first week of January, these temperatures will feel mild in comparrison.
  5. I feel this is going to be a very special January, heavy drifting snow, severe frosts both day and night, the milder air will not come back untill mid February at the earliest. An exceptional cold CET -1.6
  6. I will go for a cold and snowy 3.1CET B)
  7. Here are 3 weather related photos taken in the lowestoft area on easter monday,6" snow fell during sunday night
  8. I feel this April will be dominated by northern blocking high pressure,North-North/Easterly winds will keep a feed of cold/very cold air over most of the uk,but more so in the East. This April could be one of the most snowiest we have seen in many years. I will go with a very cold 6.0 cet. NB; We had 6" of snow laying on Monday morning & another 3" yesterday morning.
  9. We had a very heavy hail shower here at Lowestoft just after 6am,left a covering wich rapidly melted. We have also had light sleet/snow flurries over the last hour.It looks like it could become very interesting later tonight and tomorrow( Lowestoft may finally get a good dumping)!!!
  10. i will go for a cold and snowy month 3.4 please
  11. I will go for a very cold ""1.4"". i think jan will be dominated with our weather coming from the east or north-east   :w00t:
  12. I know my November forecast didnt go as expected, but the cold weather i forecased for the end of Nov is sitting to the east and i feel that by this time next week it will be moving west towards the uk. Once we get stuck in this weather pattern with high to our North dragging in bitter Easterlies it takes a lot of shifting, this is the pattern i feel we will see for most of December. My December C. E. T. ""3.8""
  13. I fully understand John that weather is a science, but not just science.A lot of my forecasting information is on past weather events and through history how weather has a pattern on repeating itself. You will agree with me that last month was very different to octobers we have been use to seeing with high pressure such a dominante feature. The second part of January91 had simular weather patterns and look what happened in eary Feb!!!!!!(a low pressure moved towards the S/E).I fully unerstand this is Nov and not mid winter, but i still feel come late November there will be enough cold to east of the british isles to deliver the above prediction
  14. 1st-8th November: Starting settled with near-slightly above temps,a few slight frosts possible if the skys remain clear for any period overnight. As we move towards the end of this period the high pressure will start to move west-north west, this will then allow the first of many polar outbreaks to move south, this will produce wintry showers firstly for N/W regions later transfering to eastern coastal. Frost will be fairly widespread overnight. 9th-15th November: Cold and unsettled with wintry showers again possible, mainly in northern and eastern costal regions, these may transfer more inland as the wind swings more Easerly. Towards the end of this period the first snow of the will start to show ,higher regions will see a covering and even low ground cannot be ruled out, again frost will be widespread overnight sometimes moderate. 16th-22nd November: This period has a lot of uncertinty in my forecast??? I originaly thought that high pressure would remain to our N/E, but i now feel that the Atlantic will bring a short and less cold period with west to N/W winds. Northern regions may still see some wintry outbreaks, temps will recover to near normal and frost will less widespread. 23rd-30th November: This period will produce some of the most coldest and snowiest weather we have experienced in November for many years!!!!!!!!!! High pressure will retrogess and link up with the Greenland H.P,low pressure will become situated over Europe this will open up the flood gates for a full onslaught of ARTIC AIRMASS.Many areas will see snowfall, Eastern/Northern will see the most with moderate to heavy falls possible As the low pressure over Europe moves towards S/E England BLIZZARDS are possible causing disruption to East Anglia and the South East. Frost will be widespread and often persistant all day. (NOVEMBER C.E.T 4. :o
  15. i I in also confused or am i just thick I also thought the average temp,s we lower than what they are showing
