    Snowing heavier in Lowestoft now and starting to settle.. Temp dropping nicely cyrrently at 1.2 and dew poin of -0.9

    Afternoon all The rain at lowestoft has also now turned to sleet.. will it turn to heavy snow??

    temp now dropped to 0.2 with a dew point of -5.2, the sky has now cleared and the moon is out.. Guess to colder uppers are now hitting, just took the dogs for a walk over the fields still a good 6 inch over most areas.. hope for more snow on friday night,

    Got a new wireless weather station from Maplans for crimbo.. Looked at the wind speed today and it was reading zero!!!, after looking at it realised it was stuck.. Took it back to get a new one only to be told that they have been told to withdraw them from sale due to a fault in the gearing.. They should have one's delivered withing the next 2 weeks "not happy" Anyone else with simmular problems ??

    I also got this weather station for crimbo from my darling wife.. i have set mine at the bottom of my garden on a pole about 10ft up, the station is in full sun and it is reading the same temp as my other sensor which is positioned in the shade.., so i guess you can install in full sun!!!!

    Expect some major changes in the models later today!! They have not got a handle on what is happening mid week, watch the low in the North sea move further West and give a good covering of snow in many Eastern areas.. Then things will become very interesting with a stalling front over our region, expect to see the low sink further South with major snow fall and strong SE winds..

    afternoon all.. what are the chances of tonadoes being spawned this evening around the lowestoft area?? i thinks we are in for some dramatic weather from late evening onwards..

    Looks like another very cold night to come with -10 expected across a lot of the region, a mix of snow or freezing rain later will cause a major hazards on the roads and pavements later, every will need to take extra care early tomorrow.. Keep a close eye on developements from Tuesday onwards!!!! The cold and snow has not finished yet, i am expecting EA to be hammered with heavy snow and strong winds arround mid week..

    temp now at -1.7 fine snow still falling.. My god ive been on this laptop all day, and guess i will be on it all night

    Hi Tim, my temp here in Oulton is now at -1.6, with fine snow/grapple still falling, at this rate the snow forcast for later will catch up to the stuff we have over us now,ground and all surfaces now frozen again after a very slight thaw earlier, still a nice covering of snow from this morning with a dusting of icing snow on ths paths now..

    what ever happens later, and how good it looks from the window, please all keep safe, this situation is very dangerous when you are driving, and it becomes very easy to end up getting stuck in your car..

    hi tim, i think we are now entering a period of substained cold and very snowy weather, next week will see more unstable Eastery winds giving further heavy falls to our region, then the high will move to Greenland allowing lows to run along the channel, once we enter this pattern it will take a lot of shifting..

    no not joking.. think this area is in for a serious snowfall, this front wont move away , it will just peter out over us, then watch the eastery set up again next week will see more snow for us.. fine snow now falling again here..

    snow now stopped falling, still cloudy and snow not melting, temp hovering arround 0c.. i think my area will do well tonight, the latest forecast seems to be stalling the front over the top of us.. i wouldnt be supprised to see over 20cm of snow by the end of Sunday..

    Still snowing here in Oulton..Just started to turn a lot heavier , now got a nice covering.. Looking at the latest GFS it will still be snowing here into Sunday evening, and next week looks like a lot of snow with a good Eastery again..

    Morning all,nice covering here in Oulton(Lowestoft), still moderate snow falling, Temp -1.. Still looking good for later tonight, and with the the wind due to increase could see some nice drifting by Sunday morning..

    afternoon all, whilst we are waiting for the 12z, who thinks we will see a major swing back to v cold easterlies and snow??? I have a gut feeling that by next weekend we will be ready for some serious snow and cold...

    I've got a feeling that the high won't sink as far south as forecast and that the low will develope more allowing deeper cold and more snow showers to develope.. Expect to see a slight covering, moderate in places more likely arround the coast..
