  4. Good morning all, VERY HEAVY SNOW here in Oulton, Lowestoft, everything now covered after freezing last night, looking at the radar looks like a nice blob over the Lowestoft area, looks like at least another Hr of snow.
  5. I think we are all in for a good chance of snow later this week, , last Thursday we were supposed to be getting sleety showers on the coast here at Lowestoft, By 11am it had been snowing of and on since 5am and a good covering of about 3", although forecasts were still saying sleet. it will be all down to nowcasting and expect a few surprises
  6. Hi all, what a lovely Sunday we have at Oulton near Lowestoft. we currently have heavy icy rain mixed with sleet and hail, had our first dusting of hail on the lawn about an hour ago. currently my weather station is showing 4.1, if it drops any lower might see some wet flakes of snow. Winter has come early this year, bring it on
  7. Temperature is still falling, now reading -0.6 didnt think is was going to drop so soon, just need some showers now!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. Temp now falling like a stone here in Lowestoft, now at 0.2 with clear starlit sky, think the colder upper are moving in from the continent
  9. Hi Ian, i have been watching developments since last week. Yes it will coincide with high spring tides, serious flooding to be expected if this happens
  10. High spring tides will be with us from Thursday to Sunday, these are at there highest on Friday,Now on Friday if the models are correct we will have a large low pressure to our North East pushing down the North sea a very strong N/NW wind, this will cause a surge to be pushed towards us here in the East, Yes there is potential for a lot of coastal flooding on par with 3 years ago, If you live close to the sea or tidal rivers/estuaries keep an eye on the EA flood warnings, and stay safe.
  11. please take note possible tidal surge on Thursday / Friday, the low pressure in the North sea will push the surge South coinciding with very high tides. If this happens i feel Norfolk, Suffolk could be hit quiet bad.

  13. looks like all the snow from the last few years will be arriving all at once,if this mornings ECM is to be believed. Looks like East Anglia could be digging ourselves out next weekend
  14. I posted this on Saturday, looks like it is shaping up nicely, with a bit of movement further north and jackpot for xmas
  15. i have a feeling that over the next few days the models will move more towards a proper Scandy High, this then allowing a cold pool to develop and move Westwards into the South of the UK East Anglia could be seeing a proper white Xmas with frequent snow showers. Watch this space and watch a turn around in the models starting tomorrow

  17. morning all, hope you all had a safe night. looking at the radar, it looks like a squall line is moving up the Eastern side, there may be some nasty wind gusts associated with this!!
  18. Hi Matt, with reference to the Net weather Winter forecast !!!!, any clues to how cold and snowy it is likely to be
  19. Well the way thing are shaping up with the models today, we could be on the way to a very cold period from mid November onwards. The potential is there this year for the winter that we have all been praying for , bring it on !!!!!!! Lets see how hard the BEAST FROM THE EAST is, its been a little feline cat for to many years.
  20. Now turned to wet snow here in Lowestoft, going to get nasty with this wind increasing with possible gusts to 70mph, what counts for a blizzard?
  21. well looks like my prediction is starting to shape up, As expected the Greeny High is gaining ground, Expect lows to run along the channel and also polar lows forming in disturbances in the Northerly flow. Later in the period keep an eye on strong low pressure in Europe dragging in strong Easterlies and blizzards.
  22. Happy new year to all. The 15th to 20th January needs to put in the diary, this is the point that we will see major changes to sub zero temps and very snowy conditions. i will explain more about this period over the next few days, but be prepared for some of the worst snowstorms on par with 87.
