  1. Look at the squall line developing to the North-West of us!!!! Some intense rainfall, hail, lightning and also a risk of isolated tornadoes.. May by it will give us some back edge snow for good measure??
  2. if you scroll through the times on the left of the ukmo on metrociel it runs the 12z for 18/11/13 , is that not the one we are waiting for?????????????
  3. They may be already be using the new data in there current model, and that could be why there outlook is a lot different to the other models!!
  4. Despite what they are all saying over on the MOD thread, toys out of prams, winter is over ect.. East Anglia could see some surprise snowfall on Wednesday

  6. With the run up to last nights storm, it was an interesting week watching it develop on the models.. It is looking like another storm will hit us next Sunday 10th.. This time it could cause a nasty tidal surge down the Eastern side of the country, with potential storm forge gusts.
  7. looks like a nasty storm again for next Sunday, this time it looks like severe gales from the North swiping the Eastern side of our region.. do we have high tides next Sunday?
  8. We are in the eye of the storm.. give it 30 mins and things look to be very bad
  9. Even Michael Fish on his latest report on the storm is saying the METO my issue red warnings for the East and SE of our region..
  10. Eastern parts of our region could see the highest gusts, 90+.. expect to see red warnings for this area later today..
  11. I have to disagree Suffolk boy!! as the storm exits into the North sea the bom effect will be causing violent storm force gusts on the Western flank. This will put the Eastern part of our Region in the firing line.. If you take a line from the Wash to Ipswich any area to the East could be in for gusts up to 100 m/h.. Also this area could be prone to tornado activity.. i posted this a few days ago and looking at the projected path i still feel this will happen.. remember when the bom effect takes place in a storm it is able to tap into the jet steam and bring the wind down to very low levels..
  12. got that horrible feeling that this little beast on Monday will track further North.. putting most of East Anglia in the middle of the zone, and with the beast deepening as it leaves the coast the could be a real sting in its tail for the East and North of our region.. the Western flank of the storm could be worse than the Souther flank!!
  13. i can see this system moving further North, and in turn the N/E corner of East Anglia taking a real beating..
  14. has anyone got James Madens winter forecast? i saw it on here yesterday but cant find it now!!!
  15. when i was a kid, i can remember digging iglos in huge snow drifts .. the blizzard started on new years eve but i cant remember the year(think it was 78/79?) anyone have any archive charts or remember the blizzard?
  16. since 2010 we have had some epic snowfalls , the last one being March 13 .. These seem to be getting more intense, we have also come close to some severe snow (close but no cigar) This winter may be the one when it all comes together and delivers the one to remember..
  17. Well we have a topic on the warmest winter on record so lets have one on the coldest.. I fell we are about to see some of the most severe and snowiest weather this country has ever experienced.. From Mid December High Pressure to the North of the Uk will dominate our weather, bringing frequent heavy falls of snow, and exceptional low temperatures.. lets see the thoughts of all the members on here..
  18. Looking at the radar , there is some heavy snow in the North sea.. play the radar loop and watch it slowly move up towards Lowestoft.. I think Lowestoft, Yarmouth and Beccles area are in for some heavy drifting snow later.. By about 12 noon we will be getting snow cover..
  19. We now have horizontal fine snow here in Lowestoft.. Hope it starts to settle and drift !!!!.
  20. Morning all.. i still have about 1" of slushy snow on the grass here at lowestoft, shame the heavy snow last night turned to sleet.. At its peak about 10pm yesterday we had a good 2-3" on all surfaces including the roads.. I think later this afternoon and evening is looking good for some convection to set up with heavy snow showers hitting East Anglia, giving a moderatate cover of snow by the morning, and with the wind increasing further expect drifting later.. Current temp 1.8 and a dew point of -2.3..
  21. Still snowing in lowestoft, about 1.5 inches on all surfaces including the road.. Temp 0.2 with a dew point of -1.9.. looking at the radar a few more hrs to come, then looking forward to heavy showers comming of the North sea..
  22. yes snowing very heavy in Lowestoft..settling nicely all surfaces are white.. Current tept now at 0.4 with a dew point of -1.3..
