  1. Not much in the village though. http://www.valthorens.com/winter-en/val-thorens/live/livecams--webcams/resort-livecam.550.html
  2. Val Thorens 360 degree web cam in French Alps is a nice one to keep an eye on. No snow in village yet though. http://www.valthorens.com/winter-en/val-thorens/live/livecams--webcams/resort-livecam.550.html For snow watchers this site is not bad. http://www.snoweye.com/?page=ca-al
  3. Looks a bit wet and sleety at Whistler. British Columbia. http://www.whistlerblackcomb.com/the-mountain/web-cams/village.aspx
  4. "i discovered a wasps nest in the attic earlier this spring , straight up the hardware store for some nest killer and it had 2 doses." As far as I am aware it is only the queen that over winters. So in the spring any nest was last years and empty. Seems that 2 does might not have been needed. http://www.rentokil.co.uk/blog/wasps-in-winter/
  5. Although House Sparrows have raised a couple of broods in the nest box I made for them they do not hang around the garden much once flown. See the occasional Starling strutting about but this is infrequent.
  6. I must say as much as I like snow when deep crisp and even I am fed up with this muck. Roll on the warmer weather. My humour is not helped as our heating is shut off as a plumber is doing some work. H
  7. Does not seem to be an unreasonable thing to do if you want to get in and out of your drive. Got nowhere else to look at the snow? It falls all around if you look.
  8. And one in the Chelmsford area if the curry I have just had comes to pass. On a serious note Yes and No. Too much to do outside to want snow.
  9. I hope you have not been provoking them. Apart from a few noteable exceptions they are very sensitive and have to be protected from the real world. I believe the government is setting up special therapy departments to be funded from deductions from the METO budget.
  10. Hopefully there will be a big dump but at this range there can be lots of unexpected surprises. Go to bed expecting nothing and wake up to find a nice little sprinkle. Does not suit me for snow tomorrow as we all have to get to a family do.
  11. Better than the Dona kebabs that we now seem to have to put up with the plebs. Oh sorry I am not suppose to say pebs now. I apologise as everyone else seems to do nowadays. Great one Lawrence Armstrong. We all believe you.
  12. Got the impression it was illegal to have memories before 1963. Hope you now have the occasional healthy crust. Not sure if I would go as far as watching Stricty Come Dancing though. Great. Will I need my scarf on the back of your mobility scooter?
  13. Got the impression it was illegal to have memories before 1963. Hope you now have the occasional healthy crust. Not sure if I would go as far as watching Stricty Come Dancing though.
  14. I expect you will be rushing out to look after us poor old people if things get difficult. I'll go and find my blanket and snuggle down following your words of comfort.
  15. Seems reading is your problem. What is the first comment in my post I am not itching to get back to those days but they were considerably harder then than now. So the little cold snap now with little snow is as hard as 1963?
  16. Anyone who lived through the 1963 winter would think a lot of you are a crowd of feline's. No internet, no mobile phones, few credit cards, no insulation in your house, no money for many. How many of you young ones could cope until you adjusted? Many are so soft!!!
  17. If you followed the models which one would you follow. As far as I can see they are not much better than putting a whole pile of different options in a bag, closing your eyes and pulling one out. Perhaps that is what the BBC do and they got in wrong as well as the models.
  18. Sorry if someone has already asked this. What is the snow risk map purporting to show. Possible snow with the time frame (3 hour), per hour, per day or what?
  19. What is the snow risk map purporting to show. Has a scale on right hand side mm presumably. Is it the expected fall for that time slot (seems most unlikely) per hour, per day or what?
  20. Anyone tried using their garden blower for shifting snow? Mine worked well. Would be more difficult if snow very wet.
