As much as I like snow and frost it is getting to the stage that everything nature wise is bursting so I do not want everything trashed. If we have snow now it is likely to be gone pretty quickly with all the resultant mess and hassle after an exciting dump of the white stuff. I agree the weather is pretty boring at the moment. H

So how are things going now? I haven't forgotten your first posting at the back end of August. A lot has happened over the last few months but it is still relevant. H

Anyone got good knowledge about Queensland and how their current problems are so unusual? Regards H

So why does Netweather allow it? Surely they are better placed to put a block on? Unless they get a cut from it appearing of course? What do they say? H

Has anyone else noted that when you are accessing the various pages on NW you suddenly find that stuff you have been seaching for elsewhere appears on the some pages? For example plumbworld. Please can someone explain how this occurs and if we should be concerned? It seems that if you delete your internet history it does not occur. Any comments? Regards Habsish

About 17.5c generally. Dreading my wife retiring early next year as she will want the heating on even though I manage without it working from home unless very cold. Looks like this comming year is going to cost more than one tank of oil. At least my wife has taken up knitting again so perhaps she is thinking of the future. H

Does anyone try and cool their house down when very hot and dry by spraying the roof and walls with water? This uses the same principal as the old clay pot milk bottle coolers that work by evaporation. Seems to work to some degree provided you don't squirt it through an open window which will cause the other half to increase the temparature by several degrees. H

I wonder if someone could provide an overview of the infomation contained in this very long thread? A new thread to continue possibly? H

Should I tie my runner beans (apple tree, plums, garden chairs etc. etc.?) There is so much leaf and fruit on many peoples trees and shrubs it potentially could be very damaging. Had many alerts from MO that have been damp squibs. From radar pictures something interesting coming in. H

Recently there has been quite a lot of reports of sink holes appearing particularly in China. My link Is this occurence a coincidence or due to some specific cause? What do others think? Habsish

Have a stand alone round bird bath. It seems that all birds, which ever species, all face in one direction when bathing (south). What does anyone else notice in their garden? H

Not quite sure where this topic should appear. I am sure there will be many who put me right on this point. Does anyone else feel their efforts to recycle, conserve energy and generally to try and do something to reduce their carbon footprint is completly wasted? Someone starting a new war or conflict, China opening yet another dirty coal power station or nature setting off an eruption seems to me to negate any puny effort I make. Does anyone else feel like me on occassions why bother? At least if you ignor the hype you would not have various cartons lying round your sitting room with different recycling stuff in? Regards H
