Ok, has everyone who feels the need to say “I told you so” got it out of their system yet? Good. Equally, can a few not overreact? It’s only the weather.
Welcome back to the MODEL DISCUSSION THREAD.

Quite seasonal here this morning with the temp currently sitting at -4.9º.

Dropped to -0.6º on Friday night, so not as cold as Shap, which is only 7 miles away (in a straight line. In every other sense, it's light year's off).

3.1 last night here. It's coming!

Every year, around this time, I look at the snow coverage charts here, and dream of a cold snowy winter to come, with angel-dust in the air, Ipswich challenging at the top end of the table and wondering whether it will be Barbara Dickson or Elaine Paige on the Two Ronnies' Christmas Special.
Today I spotted some snow in Russia, Alaska and Canada....here we go!

It means I can astro-image again; I love summer but the evenings are awful for anything astronomy-wise. Now at least the light evenings aren't the limiting factor....it's the cloud.

Thanks for posting your stats, Eden Valley a cold spot this morning. Shap hit a low of -11 degrees. Here we are on -3 degrees only.
Evidence air is very dry, and sun is stronger now, roofs exposed to it are clear of frost.
Had we some snow, large icicles would have formed, alas it is a green scene with some light white.
We've got a covering of snow, which will have helped, but I'm only a few miles from Shap and the village is surrounded by fells so I think the cold air just collects here. Had we got 62cm like in Northumberland...

Minus 11.2 overnight and still minus 10.1 which makes it the coldest night for over 10 years.

We always seem to get snow when others do, but the charts seem to show no snow in a lot of areas around me.
It'd be good to get an idea if I need to stock up on bits!
Thanks
Morning - I'd ask in your regional thread for the best answers. It's just a bunch of weirdos in this section!

I think this thread would be much more use to everyone if people made considered posts based on the output and not knee jerk reactions to individual bits of a chart projecting what could happen 5 days off or what they think is going to happen.

Not sure about the Eden I've been monitoring the levels of the Caldew and the gadge at kirby Stephen and the Eden isn't raising fast at all. I mean it could all change but so far fingers crossed it stays the same
I can almost guarantee the Eden will go over in Appleby, there's just a delay but when it rises it rises quickly. It drops quickly too of course.

Main area of concern looks like Eden
Yay! I don't know how quickly things are moving through but at ground level there's been no wind all day.

I think I'd rather be worried unnecessarily than get caught out.
