Don't feed the trolls....many responses plus one wind-up post just removed.

As has already been requested this morning, please use the appropriate thread for your response. For example, if you want to discuss the model output, then the model output discussion thread would seem the place to do it. If you are upset that some computer generated charts are showing a version of a future that won’t happen anyway different to the version you were hoping for, I’d try the moans thread.

But not here.

Model discussion and personal
forecasts are not the same thing. One off topic post can lead to many more! Please use the right threads.

The BBC isn't a model - Matt Hugo isn't a model (apologies if he does this on the side), but this is the model discussion thread!
Happy New Year.

Let’s make a good start to today shall we? We all know if our post is off topic. Some of us even say as much in the post....yet still post. Please, there’s a thread for pretty much everything here...just choose the right one!

You're watching "The Model Discussion Thread"....just to clarify!

Please remember all rules apply to everyone, including the one about staying on topic. You might think it's ok to sneak an off-topic post in there but that can soon result in a cascade of off-topic replies and people looking for model information can't find it. Such posts will be removed.
Thanks!

I've been doing this long about to spot the difference between someone posting to get a reaction and someone posting with a valid, but alternative view to the majority. So, don't waste your time if you're simply trying to get noticed or bait people. If you see such a post, report it, don't react.
Finally...it's a family forum so please just remember each post should be able to be read by anyone without causing offence!

New thread here -
With thanks to Georgiedre for the nudge, and Call the Midwife to give me the incentive to find something....anything....else to do!

396 pages in a thread is fine...397 is ridiculous, so, for the first time in over 4 years...please continue your discussions here !

Can we just discuss nicely. One errant comment and it all goes off topic and I can’t be bothered tonight so please...no point scoring, no bickering, no wind ups, just nice discussion please!

Removed for obvious reasons and getting around it with a text equivalent isn’t what we’re looking for!

Stop the sniping or the biting back. If you're being baited, report it to a moderator, if you have a problem, report it to a moderator.

Just now, Glaswegianblizzard said:I’m genuinely not trying to be contrary. If anything it’s exasperation at how optimism seems to go the same way, always.
Probably best in the moans thread then!

If anybody wants to take advantage of this busier than average period we're experiencing at the moment, but trying to make a name for themselves by being contrary for the sake of it, or a little bit snappy or otherwise just trying to spoil what should be a nice harmonious discussion about the weather....good luck!

Model discussion please - not "I told you" type posts! They will disappear.
Thanks ever so much!

It makes no sense waiting so long even from a mathematical standpoint - we go to GMTabout a month after equinox so why not change back a month before at Spring.
I've never understood that one either. Even less logical than changing them in the first place!

Had two overnight air frosts so far, Friday and Saturday night. Last night it dropped to (frustratingly) 0.1C.

Yes, of course...I'll put my heating on if it's cold in July. Never quite understood anyone who wouldn't!

Down to 2.7º here around dawn. I thought it was cold when I woke up.

Thanks John... doesn't say how you stop it though. I think Cross Fell is going to have to go.
