    Interesting day in Edinburgh. Cloudy over Edinburgh and cloud coming from the east however Clear skies all day to east . Cloud seemed to form over Edinburgh. Can someone explain why?

    Someone will correct me . But I can't remember an easterly in winter that has not produced showers. The question in Edinburgh is whether it was sleet or snow . Fully expect to get my new snow shovel out during the week. It's been lying dormant all winter so far

    I agree, reading peoples views tonight, they say lots of snow for the next couple of days in northern england away from the coast which will have rain/sleet, never good here when the wind picks up from the east direstion as temps always rise, If the wind picks up i fear we will not see temps below freezing even at night,

    Such a shame, i feel things are changing, how long do you see this temperature rise lasting, some forecasts say for a good few days? First time i remember snow lasting here for over 3 weeks, its been great, normally lasts for 2 days if your lucky.

    Is it pure coincidence we might get exactly the same weather as last night, with a lovely day and then snow in the evening from the same direction, What do you think prospects for as coasties this weekend, every forecast seems to put edinburgh above freezing?

    Temp in Edinburgh was -4.5. with a south west wind, went up to -0.7 under a strong north east wind in a hour, don't we just hate that north sea

    Very marginal though, wind picked up and so has temperature, higher elevations must be really bad

    2 days without any snow melting at the sea in Edinburgh, can't remember that happening in my life time, Should we expect it to snow tonight or will it rain and leave everything with a new layer of ice on top?

    That snow shower you mentioned missed the north-west of Edinburgh drove down to portobello and even had snow down here Are we likely to be lucky over the next couple of days or is there to much wind of the sea, Might take a visit to the pentlands for some good snow
