    More blue sky now to the east, Hoping the wind dies down a bit and the temp continues falling, although the bbc weather had a rain shower over edinburgh this afternoon, tend not to trust them huge amounts.

    Raining here at the moment after the snow shower earlier, is this gonna change through the day back to snow? Tonight looks nice and cold

    Yesterday afternoon's snow shower came at the wrong time, had it come after 4pm Edinburgh would have been under agood covering of snow, I am also careful when easterly is in the wind, tends to be rubbish for those folk from edinburgh who live near the sea, Just watching that precipitation to the south east of us moving by.

    O the joys of living near the sea in Edinburgh, Are we likely to be on the wrong side of marginal in the next couple of days? A very short distance inland can make all the difference.

    Cheers Shuggee, Just getting a bit worried, here's hoping cloud disappears soon, can't remember snow like this near the sea in Edinburgh for a long time.

    Are we likely to see temps falling later and cloud dissappearing because there is a definite onshore breeze in leith?

    Moderate snow in Leith now, things turning white again

    Yep almost stopped here in Newhaven. Clearing skies, hopefully temp can drop a wee bit more before snow starts again. Certainly cycle paths were icing over 10 minutes ago

    I think the last time we had a good covering of snow from a northerly and come to think of it the last decent snow we had was January/February 2006. Im amazed how just a mile inland yesterday there was more snow than on the shore. Anyway nice sunset tonight, hopefully stays clear tonight. John

    Always hopeful of snow from a easterly here in Leith, but always disapointed. Plenty of wintry showers today mostly snow, but never really lay. Expecting rain/sleet here. What a difference you get here from the other side of Edinburgh.

    little snow plenty rain plenty sleet and hail I need to visit some of my family in Ottawa Canada, they have had more than 340 inches of the white stuff B)

    One day in the future, the headlines will be 'Britain has its coldest winter in 50 years' :lol: and not other parts of the world. Maybe 8P or maybe not.

    I hate to say it but i have been quite happy with the number of frosts here in Edinburgh. I am realistic that we don't get much snow so frost is my next best weather. Just before Xmas i was clearing the frost on my car in the morning and at 4pm . Very strange how there has been a north south divide with the weather
