  1. I believe they started about 10 or 11 and went on till at least 2/3am
  2. During the 28th the weather was rather humid, but there were no signs in our part of the approaching chaos that was to hit the hythe/kent area that night, even though the forecasts warned of possible storms. By late evening about 10pm, I could hear rumbles and decided to look outside to see if it was a Thunderstorm or just some old person putting the bin out. Sure enough from then on, it turned from the odd flash, to strikes and flashes every few mins. One of the most amazing storms I have ever seen in my life. What was really gutting though, was I didn't have a fully charged camera and missed out on many strikes that not only knocked our power out, but set car alarms off!
  3. Felt bloody chilly on the north kent coast today, that nagging wind really dragging the temps down... Last day of it YAY!
  4. Does anyone have a chart for Sunday please as we are doing a Boot Fair run And also hoping to go out for a picnic! So far we are looking towards Monday and Tuesday
  5. Agreed, mum is really suffering with this weather, having stage 3 kidney disease is bad enough
  6. Maybe but as that wind strengthens there's going to be alot of cloud coming into eastern counties and it will not feel warm at all in that wind, something the east as suffered from throughout the last few years on and off.
  7. Not so, even here the weather was cold and with a lot of high cloud as well, that nagging wind affected alot of areas and more than a minority. Hopefully this upcoming high pressure will be placed in a favourable position for all, as wearing a coat to keep warm is being tedious
  8. I keep reading " Pleasant " weather in the model section, tbh although it's been sunny that wind has been down right chilly in this part of the country. T-shirt weather it is not
  9. Sleet with splodges of snow on the wind screen earlier, during my drive home
  10. How's it looking tonight from Canterbury down to Ashford? As I'll be driving that way tonight and considering not to There's some big hills out towards Lyminge way lol
  11. Yellow warning of snow From: 1800 on Fri 10 February To: 1000 on Sat 11 February Updated 15 minutes ago Snow showers could bring local accumulations of 2-3 cm. Some disruption to transport is possible as well as slippery conditions on roads and pavements.
  12. It's actually better in the short term, better easterly track, more areas further south along the coast having a chance of snow.
  13. What does the stalled upper cold pool do for the uk as a positive? Is it just colder and that's that? or does it have better implications down the line?
  14. Trashed all the other models all winter? No it hasn't the UKMO has, there has been many times people have been following and hoping the ECM was correct, but the UKMO came up trumps
  15. Much much better and I must say UKMO has been pretty spot on throughout this winter so far for the short term. Lets hope it holds true
  16. LOL I really had to chuckle, done this so many times... Clicked on a model thread I thought was the latest and it was from the 24th Jan I was like ffs not again, and I was looking forward to next week, then realised I was some weeks behind
  17. This is true, a lot of people have following the ECM during the last few months and yes I agree with you as the UKMO has been on top form.
  18. Same in parts of Herne Bay, people falling over, cars skidding
