  1. Sky News just said.. " We've already seen snow fall in kent today, but the potential for heavier snow later is a real threat "
  2. Wasn't the switch over to much colder weather always beginning around the 14th/15th of Jan and after that we have different ideas on the table?
  3. Here you go! Cloud radar United Kingdom - View live satellite images | SAT24 WWW.SAT24.COM View live satellite images of United Kingdom on the cloud radar at SAT24 and see where the sun is shining or the rain is falling.
  4. At the moment the much colder air is still a few hours away and likely to get even colder from then on. You can see on the radar the dividing line between sleet and snow. A large mass of precipitation is currently in Europe coming towards us. One to watch
  5. More weather chart fun! ICON shows the showers starting around 6am onwards, which I guess would fit in well with the area of precipitation moving out of Europe as well. As seen in the second image! Fascinating
  6. The North Sea around the south east is filling in with cloud now from being clear at 10pm to filled at 12. Now it's just a waiting game to see if it produces perception into the south east! See - https://www.sat24.com/en-gb
  7. Me too! Even watching the radar/sat images for the south east! Still better than the model thread which has been flooded with Football related posts :(
  8. Isn't a patch of -10pha to -12pha forecasted to cross the south tomorrow?
  9. Considering the high pressure at the moment and then the possible greenland high, I'm expecting a Siberian high pressure to become a real feature down the line. Although not till end of Jan/Feb!
  10. ICON has upgraded for snow potential for tomorrow, South East. 1-3CM widely! Again this will be a nowcast situation, so wake up, check radar tomorrow and see if you're the lucky or unlucky person to get snow or not
  11. How things have changed, as I said before a week ago people were forecasting very little in the way of snow, if at all! Air was too dry etc Yet here we are!
  12. We've already had upgrades in the short term which a lot of people are not talking about :) -12 uppers moving across the south east, weather warning for snow and it's already sleeting now! - Go back a week and people were expecting hardly anything because the high was too high :p
  13. It's looking even colder than first thought for Monday "Small pocket of -14 uppers into the extreme south east on the latest 06z ukmo". I always say for us in Kent, and towards London :p That for snowfall I prefer -10 uppers or below. Usually a good start point for snow streamers to set up. Keep checking the radar tomorrow! ( To that one poster, will get Swindon get snow? Just check the radar :p )
  14. Case and point look at the upgrades in the short term for the east and south east... " DRY " " High pressure is too high " people said, and here we are with rain/sleet and possible snow tomorrow! - I do wonder if after all this we get a true scandi high down the line rather than a more dominate greenland high?
