This 'event' wouldn't be a certain Rugby match would it? If it is, I'm not really sure we can be of any assistance. There is another thread for the South East who'll have better local knowledge, but London area is under an Amber warning for both Saturday and Sunday. Check the HIRLAM model animation on the previous page, which shows the South East under heavier snow early on Sunday. Some of us were impressed with the Hirlam's handling of the snow distribution last time. Best of luck! For the trip... not the Rugby. Edit - Having said all that... the amber warning ends early doors on Sunday and the MO suggests the snow will have pushed through, with the heavier stuff falling later on Saturday.

I haven't got mine either, yet. I'm looking at one of these --> https://www.lcegroup.co.uk/New/manfrotto-befree-aluminium-travel-tripod_3087.html But will probably pop into the LCE shop at the weekend for a chat.

I was just about to say Karlos will be waiting for the HIRLAM to come into range. At the moment, this weekend looks like being more interesting than the early part of the last Easterly, but nowhere near as exciting as the Thursday/Friday. Some should luck out though and see a bit. Hopefully that'll then be it, so we can get out in the garden and finally feel the sun on our backs.

We had an epic trek up Clearbury early yesterday morning for our sledging. It was hard going in knee deep drifts at some points. At the top however, conditions were good and fast. Had to leave mid morning to get to the Saints match (wish I hadn't bothered). It was surprising how quickly the thaw was setting even in the three hours that we were out on the hill. The last few weeks has been great. Not just for the eventual cold and snow, but for the whole lead up on Netweather; especially in the S/SW Thread. Tracking it from the predicted SSW, to the main event felt like we had insider knowledge all the way. Thanks to all in here.

"Southampton Football Club is anticipating that tomorrow’s Premier League match with Stoke City will proceed as planned. The club has been in dialogue with Hampshire Police, Southampton City Council, the Premier League and Stoke about the game, after the heavy snowfall experienced in the region. Following continued consultation throughout the day, the club and authorities expect the game to go ahead at its scheduled 3pm GMT kick-off time." This will seriously curtail my sledging time.

@matt111 From the Daily Echo... 'Southampton Football Club is continuing to monitor conditions ahead of the Premier League home game against Stoke City. Saints are set to welcome Paul Lambert’s team to St Mary’s tomorrow afternoon, for a 3pm GMT kick-off. Following heavy snowfall in the region, the club has been consulting with Hampshire Police, Southampton City Council, the Premier League and Stoke, and will continue dialogue throughout the day with all relevant parties. We will continue to keep supporters informed and plan to issue a further update at 5pm GMT today.'
