Well I've heard the BBC have said this could be the 'hottest' spell of the year so far. However, I think here in Berkshire and London will see temperatures equal to or a notch less than those recorded in the late May/early June warm spell. Just this feeling I have as I'm hearing so much about a NE flow and a bit of cloud around and the SW being warmest.....
The SW, I think will be warmer than it was in the late May/early June spell. Nothing over 29c though!
-
Isle of Man has 25c thats 2c off the highest temp recorded there!!!!! Amazing my brothers with their personal trainer clients must be enjoying that!!!!! Only 22c here...... best of the temps in the next week for here..... pity.....
Next two weeks more like........doesn't look like we will see this again in the first half of June, at least!

Rains turned to very heavy snow here, looks very dry and is laying very quickly even on the wet surfaces and snow that was slushy and melting
So close yet so far!!!!!
-
What is all this about a winter storm? Will we just have rain, rain, rain and more rain here, west of London?
-
More snow about, lucky people! This morning was snowing but sadly it turned to rain and became slushy! Can we expect any of the snow tonight to hit the Eastern areas of Berkshire?
-
Snowing in this part of Berks, light to moderate fall at the moment.......Will probably either turn to rain or die out soon....anyone?
-
It was sunny here but we just had a bit of light snow, lasted for about 5 minutes. All the snow from last 24 hours is still largely about apart from the roads!
-
I'm going for snow band part 4
Fragments of ppn appears to be heading towards London bound.
It's snowing here right now and this is my snow band part 4.
PS......Peter the weather forecaster for BBC London News has just said that we will get snow on Wed, Thur & Fri
This is simply amazing...........The snow here is getting heavier
You are right it is amazing! Snow is the deepest I have ever seen it but Croydon must be totally wiped out!?! Any chance more snow coming this way?
-
Tell your kids that what you have right now is part one. Part two is on it's way from France :o
Yeah and I hope it is worse than what we have already received in this area. About 1.5/2inches, not bad I guess, but this is the best I have seen UK snow in my life so I'm hoping to see what others in London have seen.....

To the recent poster from Windsor area:
Yes, you were never likely to get much west of London - looks like work will be ON tomorrow - and that being the case, I think you must be mad at nearly 2am waiting for snow -- you WILL have to get up early and go in!
Having said that, as a guv'nor, even in the SE here, I will expect all my employees in, on time in the morniing. In the modern age, there's really no excuse for tardiness or absence even in this "significant" event.
Yes, it looks great out of a North or East facing window in the middle of the night, but the main roads are all clear, even now, and by the end of the rush in the morning in all major routes it will be churned up enough for anyone who *wants* to work, to work.
Hope your guv is more forgiving than me. NOW GET SOME SLEEP READY FOR THE WORKING DAY TOMORROW!!!
Remember, in these hard times, the snow slackers will be the first to go! There's nothing romantic about that, despite the snowy scene outside....!
Well we have had over an inch so far, which seems like nothing compared to parts of SW London. I'd like to see my manager get in through all that being other side of London!
-
Wait until the major snow sets in during late morning into the evening. We are going to experience 7 ins+
Alright for you, here it is not as heavy and we have only had an inch! Looks like work will be on tomorrow!
-
Can anyone tell me if anything more is heading for Slough/Windsor area?
-
-
We now have 4 ins of snow here and it's still snowing
Croydon Council have declared an emergency based on the latest MetO advice.
We are now expecting in excess of 8 ins + here and more from late morning.
All personal are working flat out and all have decided to take less breaks to help out.
It really is going to be quite bad out there especially late morning with heavier snow forecast.
Please take extra care if you really need to venture out.
Makes the inch lying here look silly! Pah I guess it will be work as normal tomorrow after all!
-
Unbelievable snow at the moment, the well gritted road is now white. It must be falling at about 1cm every 5 mins at the current rate!!!!
Not fair, not fair, not fair, not fair!!!!
-
A bit of a snow shower in Slough, now stopped, left a dusting though! I just hope it gets as bad as I'm hearing.
-
Snowing in Slough now, so Windsor can be hopeful.
Yes, has a nice little go, left a layer......bring it on, hopefully more to come, still nothing like London has been getting.....I'm hoping
-
The ball point pen I planted in the snow 3 hrs ago has now completely dissapeared so thats 6inches so far with heavy snow showing no sign of relenting. I cannot imagine how all those 20 and 30 yr old southern drivers will fair in this tomorrow most will never of driven in these conditions
LOL should be no delays here at all, not seen anything beyond a flurry!
-
yep teen but i was blocking the stairs and his shoes were downstairs! He might get his own back in the morning though
All stopped here again now for a bit.
Or when you are asleep! That'll wake you up :-)
-
Another blizzard here at the moment. If it stoped i would be happy but this is only the begining also power outages not far reported from lbc 97.3
Just had another pathetic flurry, will probably get clear now!! I have seen better than this since 1991....Why only silly little flurries, why can't we have the stuff everyone is reporting? I'm only just out of West London!!!
-
Not surprised they closed Gatwick...I'm only 3 miles from it and I was starting to wonder......!
Well then clearly you have too much snow, so this way PLEASE
-
Dusting here in Bracknell
sky ominously clear at the moment....can see the stars
Same here in Slough, joke isn't it!!!
-
Some latest pics, still snowing lightly, saw the moon about an hour ago but that dissappeared quickly, the sky has been orange most of the night so far:
WOW looks great, I want that here, can someone please share?
-
I think I will just have a glass of red wino to toast to that! My poor husband however has been informed (he is on the grit team) they will have to stay in London as they may not be able to get back in to do the next rotation. I think a lot of people are going to have very messed up travel plans tomorrow.
Mmmm, looks like it will be sunny for us here, unless the cloud moves in and gives us the snow like the rest of you have!!! Soooo unfair!
