    Can someone post the NW radar pretty please. I promise its my new years resolution to buy it. Would do it now but heading out for the fireworks at civic centre.

    Aye, deluded is the word. These showers looking at the MO radar look to be gaining in intensity.

    A very blustery graupel shower mixed with some hail here in Newcastle , Temps have rapidly dropped to 1.0c from 3.4c EDIT: Is now a heavy snow shower with temps down to 0.4c. What the hell has just happened ?

    I disagree John, i think there will be at least 12 hours of continuous heavy snow and 20 foot drifts.

    I wouldn't mind just seeing the roofs covered again, the grass and roads are still white everywhere.

    Its -0.5c here and that's the lowest its got all day, had a look in the yorkshire thread and they are reporting ice falling from the sky instead of snow with temps of around -1.0c. Thank god there is no Pennines to the south of us as i would have given up on that band hours ago.

    Its 2.4c still and i can see flakes in the air, the ppn hasn't moved in yet properly so its just specks of snow really. EDIT: Temps down to 2.0c now and light snow falling , come on temps keep falling.

    Will be kept on as its on BBC. Just been out to post a few cards and this snow has already left about 2 inches.

    0.1c here near central Newcastle and absolutely chucking it down with Snow. Roofs are fully covered now where it had melted during the sleet. How long will the snow last ?

    Some moderate flaky snow falling at the moment for about 10 minutes in central Newcastle, temps -0.5 .

    Our time will come lads and lasses , don't worry. Hopefully Monday and it will be twice as good as the south-east is getting. Currently light snow here in Newcastle but continuous showers
