I think they should after watching bbc south today they had snow over the whole of southern and SE England on sunday, so hopefully they will. Though Met office do have a habit of taking the IOW warning off sometimes.

I hope so wednesday was fun especially when college has been closed for 3 days, Fingers crossed

Hi Everyone we have had some amazing snow, most ive ever seen to be honest, theres 3 and a half inches here with some patches deeper about 5 and some not as much, about 2 inches, I am in Sandown and me and my mates have had big snowball fights and made 2 men and then killed them lol. Hopefully college will be called off tomorrow as i dont think the buses will be running.

Hi Jamie, i think at the moment that is a case, if cold enough then maybe but yeh direction of wind and the warmth of sea worries me a bit.

Ive witnessed 3 of them, Saw one last february huge bolt of lightning with loud thunder and very heavy snow. March 2007 there was one and there was alot of thunder and lightning for about an hour with heavy snow that lasted most of the evening giving a decent covering. There was on in 2004 aswell with more heavy snow.

Didnt know where to put this We just had one of the heaviest Hailstorms i have ever seen, everything has on completely white out with Hail, Absolute amazing to watch and some was size of marbles. Amazing Anvils now at the back of it now.

Just in the car on my way back from bowls, and saw 2 flashes of lightning out too sea was quite suprised

Hi- I was just wondering what a Barlett High is? when i look in the Model output discussion and sometimes people are saying about a Barlett high being bad in winter or something like that. I was just why is it not good in winter and what it is? Also just wondering what weather it brings? Sorry if there's already been a topic on this. Because of my age im still learning very quickly and am wanting to be a Meteorologist so much when i am older, there are so many things i dont understand and feel that Net Weather will help me alot Thankyou Ryan

Just as i thought thr roads by the river have now started to flood according to a few people. We have taken a right pounding by showers and heavy rain (torrential mostly) over the past week and last night and this morning the showers have extremely heavy, along with hail and very very strong winds. Though i didnt see or hear any thunder and lightning last night, from the looks of it i can see alot more showers coming and looks heavy too.

I know our roads are like a river at the moment, got constant heavy rain. Havent seen anymore lightning at the moment but hopefully will see some.

We have been getting battered by showers over the pass couple of days, along with quite alot of hail aswell, We had quite a bit of lightning around 5-7, but havent seen any as yet for now. Looks like were in for another showery day tomorrow. Am getting quite worried about our river level as there has been so much rain and showers, veyr heavy ones too.

Been getting some frequent lightning here too, 2 to the west of me and loads out to sea and some close. Heard a few rumbles too.

Just keep getting battered by showers here and another one about to hit. those storms out by kent last night sounds amazing and i have to admit i saw 2 flashes out to sea last night around that time, this was to the East. Before that it absolute belted down with rain and hail, almost as heavy as the squall the night before.

Had a cracking storm here yesterday at about 11:00am, was at bowls and after about an hour here huge rumble and everyone was like is that thunder, About a minute later i was just about to look outside and there was a huge flash and loud rumble of thunder. Another minute after that it started to rain very very heavy and then the hail started and it was horizontal then a huge bolt of lightning to my west not far away and another loud rumble of thunder. Went back inside for only a matter of 2 minutes because the hail made everyone look outside as it was that heavy and right above an enormus flash of lightning and an instant explosion of thunder, We all shut the door after that as it was dangerous. Also another feature was the Wind it was very very powerful must of been getting to 80mph, I went back out side about 5 minutes later because it had calmed down though thunder was still going off pretty loud. My mate joined me out in the car park to see it and we saw about another 4 flashes and 4 rumbles. After that we went back inside and carried on with our bowls and that was most exciting event ive seen since february snow it was very fun and awsome to watch.

Yes i think it was a squal a severe one i think and it all came at once which was very exciting, wind was very very strong also what made it more exciting on the way back from bowls was driving along seafront with wave crashing like mad
