  1. Thanks snowmaiden, in that case I shall go for a cool 3.4c
  2. Could somebody tell me the 61-90 and 71-00 averages please?
  3. I bet it will be strange when he returns to find a thread with his name on it!
  4. Was wondering the same earlier, perhaps he has had his power cut off? BBC said upto 1 million homes in SW France were without power. Let's just hope that this is the reason for his absence and nothing more serious.
  5. When was the last time this happened Mr Data?
  6. I don't know what country you are from but from where I am it has been far from consistently above average. Most days are average at best. And besides, after the first 10 days a complete "flip flop" would be exceptionally mild, opposite to the exceptionally cold we saw a few weeks ago.
  7. Thanks for that Steve, look forward to the next batch!
  8. Things getting quite stormy here now. Sky - which usually goes off in summer thunderstorms - has now cut out. Hopefully the power won't be next...
  9. Yup, I said that the snow warnings will be toned down but not fully removed, and lo and behold that's what happened! But you folk in the north stay safe, looks very nasty indeed. It's bad enough here!!
  10. Exactly, those in the red areas be extremely careful, the key from the Met Office makes grim reading: "Major damage to infrastructure and the environment is likely. Casualties are possible"
  11. For the first time ever (I think) the Met Office have put into action their extreme red warnings: http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/uk_...t_warnings.html
  12. Met Office have issued flash warnings for Severe Gales in Wales, Northern Ireland and SW England: http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/uk_...t_warnings.html
  13. Very, very little left now. A bit of ice left on the waterfall. A lump of snow left in next doors garden. Will be gone by tonight but it has lasted a week!
  14. I don't think I have ever seen so much mild ramping before in a countryfile forecast "Definitely an improvement in the temperatures" - Well what does improvement mean? To me it's colder! "The eastern half could SUFFER some colder temperatures" - It's only 5-6c for heaven's sake, it's pretty much average.
  15. See, I voted for your method and my faith was right! Scarily spot on so far...
  16. I still have snow, but only very slushy deposits in the most sheltered of sheltered places. Will almost certainly still be there in the morning as it is -2c now. Not bad at all for 1 inch of snow to partially remain for 6 days!
  17. Snow almost completely melted now, thanks to the scorching 2.7c max temperature we have had today.
  18. I reckon we should have a "weather rubbish in the media" thread, it would be 40 pages long within a week...
  19. Well the longer they leave it the more dodgy it looks, would be a strange coincidence if it is released when the cold loosens its grip...
  20. My punt at 2.7c might not be far off the mark then
  21. Can't believe this, a week into January and we are still negative! No doubt the 2 days of milder temperatures will bump it up to some crazy number
  22. When did they announce the 2008 figures? A minute past midnight on New Year's Day because it didn't upset the Global Warming apple cart? But seriously it shouldn't really be taking this long surely!
  23. Nobody knows, they still haven't updated it: http://hadobs.metoffice.com/hadcet/cetml1659on.dat
