  1. Yeah we have the advantage of anything that falls out of the sky will be snow, those in the east have to worry about the mild sector.
  2. The thing is though Jackone, the BBC forecasts that I have seen before are going against the UKMO and GFS. Showing the snow not going further west than the Central Midlands. I am just very confused at this point. Are the BBC just playing a game of pin the snow on the map?!
  3. Me neither! Relatively mild yes, but I would say that is pretty much average.
  4. The UKMO looks much more promising for the west than the GFS. Just picked out this gem, I shall be right in the green http://www.meteociel.com/ukmo/run/U60-594.GIF?01-06 It will be very interesting to see the updated warnings, will the Met Office go with their own model on this?
  5. I hope its Rob McElwee doing it this week. Haven't seen him for a few days, I think they have kept him locked up to stop him ramping!
  6. For those in the west the mild sector was never a worry. If the mild sector is further east, then the precipitation would go with it. There should be some light snow, but nothing like what the east could be having.
  7. Unfortunately those nasty easterners have hopecasted the warm sector so far east that it has taken the PPN with it - resulting in nothing for the SW!
  8. 2006: 11.4c 2007: 13.5c 2008: 12.5c 2009: 9.3c
  9. http://212.100.247.145/gfsimages/gfs.20090...8/72/ukprec.png A little further east and there COULD be a south west snow fest.
  10. My journey back on Friday looks fun! http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Recm1441.gif
  11. I know I am a bit biased but I seriously think that the south west could be amongst the best places to be during this snowy spell. Eastern areas will receive more sleet/rain than we will.
  12. Yeah incredibly I could be in one of the best spots in the country for Tuesday! You will definitely get a couple of inches AT LEAST at some point this week. But hopefully not too much :winky:
  13. But for the most in low level areas in the country, I would say in excess of a foot will be achieved somewhere on low ground. And I will be extremely jealous of the person who gets that!
  14. Staffordshire - 8cm Somerset (my home for the week) - 6cm
  15. Well I am nearly 17 and I have never seen (or remembered seeing) more than a few inches of snow (apart from on much higher ground). So I would say AT LEAST 10 years.
  16. Good idea! I think we should start a thread on Sunday for the funeral I don't think many will be upset!
  17. Looks like the modern winter has been killed off for this year
  18. I know, it's pathetic! If I wake up in the morning to find all 3 models have converted to the crap on the 18z, THEN I will worry. But one run? Forget it!
  19. Whatever you folks do, DON'T enter the Model thread, the 18z has derailed the roller coaster and things could turn nasty in there. Hopefully normal service will be resumed in the morning!
  20. I am going to change mine to 2.6c please.
  21. We have had to endure Scotland getting snow event after snow event after snow event for the past decade, now it's our turn
  22. Suits me down to the ground off to Somerset so that would do nicely! But no doubt sods law will kick in and you will get a dumping and I will get nothing!
  23. It would indeed be the warmest on record, only just mind you, with the warmest currently being held by 1779, with 7.9c
