  8. been surreal recently at work and home as everybody seems to be bringing back memories of childhood experiences many moons ago about snow/cold events they can remember, doesn't normally happen, still moderate snow in byker, I was wondering what the strange dripping noise in the back garden was last night, it was the formation of 24" long icicles! from the roof( probably caused by s**t loft insulation coz the heating was on all day)
  9. I've got to say i,ve been around a while in the toon (43 years shhhhh!) but this is one of the best cold spells I can remember, definitely been better ones, but i,m talking 20 years ago now
  10. enjoy this cold spell while u can coz our weather is so unpredictable, thats why it makes it so interesting to follow
  11. i,m the same in byker just moderate, small flakes most of the time, but longetivity sometimes counts
  12. your right because water is less dense than land and takes a lot longer to cool down in the long run ,so the north sea temps are normally colder in feb/mar than dec/jan, that is in normal winters, but this winter ain,t normal
  13. getting heavier in byker now, can't see the lights of gateshead( a sign of heavier snow 4 me), switched the xbox off
  14. getting better now, the flakes are getting bigger & and a bit heavier, , but the bad guys are getting harder to hit (xbox) probably coz i,m seeing 2 of them(beer)
  15. I ,switching between snow watching & xbox360 modern warefare 2, supping a can of beer, no work tomorrow, missus asleep, radar looking interesting having a good night
  16. moderate snow now in byker, how slow moving is this!
  17. getting light to moderate snow in byker, from my front window I can see the lights of gateshead across the river, when snow gets heavy u can't c them, currently they are slightly hazy.

  23. getting irritated now every time I look out the back door, water (Ihope) is dripping in a very small area onto the snow even though its obviously well below freezing hope its not the teenage son peeing oot the bedroom window probably a central heating malfunction or something
  24. bbc forecast just showed more snow on their graphics for tomorrow & sat with the persistant snow on sun just reaching us. snowing quite heavily now in byker car totally covered again, one big downside of this is having to scrape the snow off the car in the mornings to gan to work roll on tomorrow night lie in sat cheers gazza
