Snow picked up a bit, but all the laying snow from last night has melted! Temp hovering around freezing. Nowhere near as cold as I thought it might be at this stage.
Light snow here (Ludlow area), and a slight covering from overnight. Seems to have gotten a bit heavier in the last 10 minutes, and radar shows precipitation beefing up! Maybe the snow will come early? Temp currently -2.0C.
BBC maybe trying not to scare people too much! I think the other models are going for continuous cold away from Cornwall and extreme west Wales. Even Ireland looks as though it's in with a shout.
Nothing here, but it's cloudy and -2.2C
Yes, it looks like the cold air may be too strong to allow the snow through to the west mids. Unfortunate if true, especially after the disappointment today, when we were too far west. Plenty of time for things to change.
All our snow has been washed away and melted. High tops (Clee Hill, Long Mynd) still white though. Heavy rain showers with spectacular rainbows a short while ago.
I'm not hopeful. However the metO forecast has heavy snow for us tonight, so it might get all washed away during the day, and be replaced by a nice pristine layer overnight!
Close to a couple of cm of snow here, but now raining despite temp being below freezing. No drips from trees, car etc, still all completely white. Presumably all ruined by the upper air temp?
-5.5C here this am, so if the temp stays depressed all day, could get snow later. It appears to be "ahead of schedule", so might coincide with lower temps.
