Eventhough the forecasts say it's warming up ......it feels sooooo cold tonight, maybe it's just my old bones are prone to damp
-
If my legs weren't so long that my knees touched the steering wheel, I'd be on it every day mate
It's a Massey Ferguson as well, which is my favourite make of tractor.
The above statement is an admition of guilt ..........you've at least tried to know that
*whispers* can I have a go too?
-
Here we go.
This is my the steering wheel, which belongs to my sons' toy tractor.
And ofcourse Brian never is seen playing on said tractor....Cough
Great pic mate
-
well after a rather wonderful snow day (getting sent home from work! ) it's drizzle now......but hey it was an unexpected nice suprise
-
and i'm rather unimpressed with rain
-
Raining here now sadly.......heyhoo i've seen good snowfall
-
Its been strange old night. Fantastic today, then looked like turning to rain for a time, now this. Unfortunately i dont have access to the radar at present, have you any chance of anything over the next few hrs?
There's a rapid thaw setting in here in Weardale............which means it's normally goodnight for the NE..........Well predicted PP.
-
Defo got 20cm here but on walls and stuff with 30cm drifts, probs around 10-15cm on ground, doubt bin men will be coming .
Wish raintoday.co.uk was working meto radar crap
yeah I put the bin out tonight......was wondering if the bin man will arrive too
-
Yes it varies a lot around here due to being on the edge of the Pennines. For example parts of Leeds get to well over 200m whereas the centre is 40m; Harrogate ranges from 60-200m, etc.
Got ya.....It's rather like that here, over a comparatively small area you can drive out and be a few hundred feet higher in no time, thanks mate for the explanation
-
Yes, if you use the ordnance survey website, google earth or earthtools.com then this will tell you
Leeds city centre is about 40m, the E doesn't get above 100 I don't think, but the N and W is much higher.
Is it Yeti? I honestly thought Leeds was higher than that, lives n learns
G'nite MACWY
-
And it's back to full blown snow here.....my nerves a fraught .....we seem to be apprx an hour behind Brian and the Yorky crew
-
I think i'll be off to bed, and i'll see what remains in the morning.
Even if it does turn back to snow before it clears I think there will be less on the ground in the morning than there is now.
I'm going to listen to Alan Robsons Nightowls, the sound of the rain hitting my window along with the dripping is unbearable!
Good luck everyone! Looks like those in the south of our region are in for more
G'nite marra,is Alan Robson still doing night owls? I used to call in for an argument regularly lol....and the Halloween shows were great!
-
They also said "risk to life" which was ridiculous.
maybe they were referring to mass wrist slashings if it did'nt come off Yeti
-
Temp here was sitting at 0.3C when it was snowing before, then it started to be rainy/sleety at about 0.5C, now up to 1C so I think that's it for the snow unless things cool down again.
Also I set a new record low temp in my room, which has been without a radiator for 3 years. Last night it got down to 8.4C and today down to 7.3C!
That's worth a thread in the lounge you know?.....Guess the temp in Marks room....... I'm certain it will be an addictive winner...in fact.....*buggers off to the lounge*
-
lol...........a gritter has just passed by .......are they mocking me?......I'm hoping that the temps will drop as it still looks marginal here....sleet with huge snowflakes in it......it would take very little for a reversion to snow
-
Still got heavy snow here Phil
(simple answer Brian mate)
-
Recorded forecast maybe?
Temperature seems to have maxed out now, down to 2.4, hopefully it'll continue to drop.
Maybe but Rob McElwee followed on with similar info a few mins later......let's hope the warmer air bogs off quickly before too much harm's done
-
Permission to laugh?
lol granted....mind still plenty lying
-
??? Paul Mooney is persisting with heavy snow for the NE tonight.....what's going on?
-
Oh dear,,,,,sleet now
-
The thing that gets me is that Wolsingham isn't even that high up.
Don't think there is much chance of a degree drop in temperature, its risen that much since 7pm, from 1.1º to 2.1º. We had fine snow up until about then with slight new accumulations on the car windscreen etc.
Gods sake its 2.2 now. It is doing it on purpose.
Not particularly no, however as someone famously posted the snow knows it's in weardale....now who was that again? lol......the topographic of the area is such that we are surrounded by rather high ground so possibly that assists.....either that or I do a helluva good snow dance
-
I believe if the temp drops even 1 degree this will be a far happier board .......not just us hill billies enjoying it
-
It's not a non-event for Yorkshire, nothing like as forecast but it's not too bad here. Looks horrific in the NE though, I would be gutted now if I was there.
Parts of Durham are doing ok atm......I've got the heaviest snow of the evening here
-
Ok I'm puzzled, the radar says sleet here and over the Pennines to the Irish sea.....it is definately snowing moderately .....is there a glitch?
