Having lived most of my life in the hot and sultry south this is a real delight in the cool and windy northern lake district. Sunny at present having had some light overnight rain. Temp is currently 16.1c after overnight low of 13.8 but still very pleasant to sit outside. Wind is quite strong which will make for watchful conditions on the tops. High clouds now but excellent visibility and all tops are clear. Pressure falling as rain band over Scotland edges south.

Just what the doctor ordered here in the northern lake district. Good lengthy sunny periods all day except for an hour or so this afternoon when it clouded over. Now almost cloud-free and excellent visibility. Fast jets been practising low-level flying throughout the valleys of the lake district both yesterday and today.

A lovely day so far in the northern lakes, sunny intervals and feeling warm, variable breeze. Since moving up to the lakes in early March the weather has been fantastic always changeable always something different very often in the same day. With mountains involved even Met Office forecasts often out of date. The mountain forecasts are usually pretty good. This is a weather enthusiasts dream place.

Everywhere frosty white when I dragged the curtains open at 7am. Overnight of -1.2c and almost cloudless skies since. Temp now 11.8c and calm. One last decent day tomorrow then rain arriving late afternoon and into Sunday. Visitors pouring into the northern lakes. Luckily I have many local hidden away places to explore.

A lovely sunny start in this part of the lake district with an overnight low of 3.8c. Seven consecutive days now without rain. Threatening dark skies yesterday afternoon over Blencathra but no rain fell at valley level. Breezy/windy over the last few days has taken the edge off the temperatures and still very chilly at a height. Ideal conditions for the high fells.

Yes I do the same. I have to learn a whole new set of local weather vagaries, made a little easier by the mountains which of course mean, expect any and everything. I am also lucky to have uninterrupted views of Blencathra, Souther Fell to the north and Clough Head and the Dodds towards Helvellyn to the south. At present heavy rain/sleet/graupel shower temp 4.6c and looking towards Keswick, views disappearing as a wet afternoon rolls in.
