True . I have just checked mine and the cannisters. Also make sure you know where candles/matches/lighters together with torches and batteries. Charge up all laptops/ipads and mobile phones
People should bear in mind that many southern and western areas will be without electricity and the internet from tomorrow for some time. If your only source of lighting, heating and cooking is from electricity alternative plans should be made
I am moving to the lake district during the next month ... trust me the wintry weather has been awaiting my arrival. Late February and March are going to be epic ... wooohoo
Surely there has to be something downstream that if XY and Z goes this way then this will happen and, if AB and C happen then, this will happen. Simplistic maybe, but I trust you get my drift
Expecting another day of overcast claggy conditions. Nearby tops of Blencathra, Clough Head and Great Dodd all covered. Wolf Crags on the Old Coach Road, at approx 1800 feet are at times swallowed up by the swirling mists and clouds. Slight breeze and temp at present 12c
Currently sunny and 12.6c, misty but not the thick fog of yesterday which gave some impressive inversions from the summit of Blencathra and many other lake district summits
Overnight low of 9.9c just after midnight and then temp rose to 12.2c at 3am, falling back to 11.4c at 05:45.
Now cloudy with a temp of 12.1c .
Cloud covering the summit of Blencathra and Great Dodd but distant hills towards Keswick clear. No inversions although current forecasts suggest these may be back over the next few days
Last couple of days rather disappointing here in the northern lake district, with thick low cloud and most tops covered. Mizzle from time to time never amounting to a great deal but high in nuisance value. To a true lover of the high country great weather to get out and about on the low fells and soak up a different type of atmosphere and landscape.
