  1. Snowy scenes here in Moulton, Northants. Dewpoint 0.0c and convective showers starting to break out to my south west and head this way.
  2. If you are in Northants look to the south east plenty of flickering in the distance
  3. I think you mean deeper but even so a very significant quake given how weak all the structures and geology must now be
  4. Very very windy dry and sunny and temp currently 8.1c
  5. Sleety rain with occasional bursts of snow Temp 1.3c Dewpoint 0.0c Wind from west 2.6mph
  6. Slight slushy covering here topping up what has already fallen. Temp 1.7c
  7. Current temp 1.5c Overcast Snow cover 100% Dewpoint 0.4c Stiff breeze from SW still giving a negative wind chill
  8. Although not affecting our area Met Office pressure map shows a convergence line in the Irish sea for lunchtime Saturday which can give several hours of precipitation. Like I keep saying the current synoptic set up is wonderful in that it will keep giving surprises. Cold is now becoming established. Fun and games can truly begin wooohoo
  9. Hoping that the next snowy surprise is the area of low pressure sitting off the Norwegian coast that is set to trundle down our east coast over the weekend. May be possible for showers to be sent further inland. Also worthy of note is yellow alert for snow for this area next Tuesday
  10. Edale/Castleton in the Peak District
  11. Very good covering of snow here and certainly not warm lol, looking forward to next snowfall of what will be a remarkable winter
  12. Almost continual snow for the last hour has recovered all surfaces, temp and dewpoint 0.2c
  13. Dewpoint minus 1.6c Temp 0.3c Still windy from SW giving a high windchill Log fires lit and dinner on ..... come blizzard come But that is what makes the weather such good fun ... everyone has their own take on it
  14. Sorry to disagree but it has been confirmed as a polar low
  15. There are yellow warnings from Met Office for high winds in SW and midlands and south all connected with this feature .... could be a long and hopefully snowy night woohoo
  16. see post 1182 could not be a clearer small low pressure system
  17. That is the great thing about them you just don't know what you are going to get, albeit a true polar low has a very cold core and therefore invariably will be snow
