    I am not to worried by the ECM forecast "warming" towards the end of next week, plenty of snowfall opportunities before then which in themselves may change the forecasts. More importantly, some learned members have already indicated that there will be a slight warming before the weather once more plunges into the cold created in part by the sudden stratospheric warming. Happy and interesting days ahead.

    Surprisingly no air frost last night here in rural Northants. Min temp of 0.1c was foggy and misty at times but now lifted to general murkiness. Fingers crossed for a bit of the white stuff over the weekend and maybe Monday.

    I have to attend a board meeting tomorrow morning at Newport Pagnell and therefore not something I can easily make excuses and not attend. For once grateful that the charts are not looking like they did a week ago. Mind you not looking forward to M1 if there is freezing fog around.

    Fog has prevented the temperature falling any lower than -0.8c overnight. Currently foggy, calm and temp of -0.4c

    Think this may help in the model thread Beach House – Wishes I'm with you CH I think many including some who should know better have been quick to write off this wintry outlook and I fully expect models to show an about face over the weekend, I think only about half dozen understand the concept of modelling, still it is amusing

    Maximum temp of 0.4c today and temp now back below freezing at -2.4c. With sun just setting and cloudless skies, expect temp to fall rapidly.
