  1. Milky skies, giving occasional sunny intervals, breeze making it feel cooler than yesterday
  2. With this wind there must surely be a chance of lake effect snow (north sea streamers) setting up?
  3. Whereas the fronts bringing the current snowfall will decay over the next 24 hours, looking at the direction and strength of the wind and the line up of the isobars suggest North Sea streamers setting up or possibly troughs or small low pressure systems. Potentially a lot more snow to fall. Currently about 5cm here and snowing steadily. Very strong winds blowing snow around.
  4. Moulton but at the moment only the odd snowflake blink and you would miss them
  5. About 6cm in this part of Northants, which is the 3rd substantial fall of snow this winter
  6. Met office is currently showing heavy snow for Northampton at 9pm this evening to 3am tomorrow

  8. I am certainly not disappointed with met office forecast and I dare say neither are our friends in the north. This was always going to be a northern event becoming more marginalised the further south or east you came. This is exactly what happened. This was never set in stone for this area. It also proves how nowcasting is the only reliable with snow. I for one am rather pleased not to be digging out a 100 foot drive again this winter. Now off to enjoy the snow and ice where it should be - in the hills and mountains.
  9. You not seeing that area of red/purple echo's to the south-west heading this way then?
