  6. weird seeing Scottish Airspace completely deserted bar a few high altituders. "Royal Dutch Airlines KLM says that it is canceling more than a dozen flights to and from Scotland and northern England because of the volcanic ash cloud from Iceland. The airline says on its website Monday evening that 16 flights scheduled for Tuesday morning to and from Aberdeen, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Newcastle will be cancelled."

Latest METAR from Edinburgh Airport "EGPH 231650Z 24036G57KT 9999 5000W -RA FEW012 SCT028 BKN034 11/06 Q0996" so gusts of 66mph being recorded in that METAR ob , which was made around 25 mins ago. Also RAF Leuchars EGQL 231650Z 24040G56KT 9999 -SHRA SCT032 SCT040 BKN050 11/04 Q0993 BLU NOSIG Gusting to 64mph.

  11. http://www.metoffice..._1306151334.png , latest predictions from the VAAC (Met Office). Places the ash cloud right over Scotland and Ireland at 06z tommorow morning. I'd imagine airspace up here will be shut and the transatlantics from Heathrow/The Continent will be routed much further south , but we'll see what happens.

  18. Shuttle is now 20 hours into the mission and everything is going as planned. It's due to dock with the station tommorow at 6.15am Eastern , which is 11.15am BST. 4 spacewalks are planned on flight days 5 , 7 , 10 and 12 , info will probs be on the NASA website.

  20. Launch scheduled for 8.56am Eastern (1.56pm BST) , with a poll go-no go for launch at 1.07pm BST. At the moment weather conditions are looking good , 70% chance of favourable conditions at launch.
