Quite true, ITV is prob the station which broadcasts the most PAP I have ever known. Some variation then - something crap that you find on ITV! No shortage there.
In other news, anyone seen *any* signs of spring showing its leg yet? (just turned the heater back on again)
-
cold again.
05.c at present, icy and horrid.

Don't we have that pretty much already now, with the In Depth Model Discussion thread?
The seasonal Model Discussion thread is doing it's job nicely as it is, with people wanting to discuss and post their thoughts on the current models.
A lot of people like extremes of weather, be it hot, cold, wind, rain or snow, and while we are currently in a cold weather phase, it's only natural for people to look for more cold while it is still here.
I am sure if it was 100°F hot now, that many people would be looking for even hotter weather, and the minority would be seeking cooler weather.
I think I speak for the *many* in that we want an "un biased" approach, and want just dedicated reporting of the data output, not personal.

Quite agree with many of the comments in here. The MOD thead should be about just that, the data "quality", is "that" good or bad? is it overplaying this, underplaying that? kind of thing, not "Oh it's a *BAD* run" just because it does not show a persons preference in weather.
The other threads (such as this one) are where you can bang on about it.
I read the MOD thread to get a feel of how the data being given is accurate, and from that the confidence that it is right, but as others have already said, what you want and what the weather *does* are two different things, and I can pretty much state that the latter of the two will win out each time.
For many of us, knowing how valid and correct said MOD output is, is needed to try and make plans for the future, now *that* is important.

Those south of me should be praying tonight...
-
only in the bottom right corner. Will it snow in my garden at 9:34am tomorrow?
it will be balmy hot in the opposite one though.
-
Amen to thatJust as well the weather does as it pleases and doesn't respond to desires really!
-
Snowing here too, almost an inch "in places" down, you can hear it melting ( the drip drip drip you get with the under melt).
New thread coming!
Please finish off any posts or hold off posting charts etc and I'll link new one shortly....
dammit! just posted when I saw this [grump mode on]

I wish this winter/winter-spring would just clear off now. Just annoying especially since there's no snow, long since overstayed it's welcome here, dragging on and on. Can get cold rain at any time of the year, go away please, thank you very much.
SNOW!!! WE HAVE SNO......
oh wait, it has been snowing "on and off" for like the last 6 months.
Oh how I would love for some hint of spring, plus I would hate to be the one to use the last two day's of gas we apparently have left to keep myself and the hamster warm.

I think Heavy Settling Snow in Ipswich might mean I'm in the pub. Ipswich Webcam.
-
Hubby text earlier thick snow in Ipswich.
Thick?
Heavy,settling ??thick any ideas lol
apart from "not thin" I have no answer for you.
We had a "flurry" here earlier, now just feels damp and cold out.
3.C and turning misty by the looks of it.
-
milder and sunny spells here now, wind also dropped and the rain has stopped.
-
Morning all.
Just to confirm what most of you already know, it is cool, windy and rather wet here too.
Luckily I do not need to venture out until later this afternoon.
-
Just to back mushy up.....as he says the problem isn't people wanting cold......its 1. Assuming everyone wants cold and calling output good or great without stating a preference. Everyone knows what good means in the model thread in Dec....but march? 2. The shouting down of people who don't believe the epic charts.....that's happening a bit in there now. 3. When colder is predicted posts can add nothing to the discussion eg BOOM with no,chart...or members will coke on their cornflakes. If I was to make similar posts when three models back away from extreme cold they would be removed or I would get lots of negative posts......
Totally agree too, I have posted in the past about it myself, someone posted "it's a *BAD* run", no reason to explain if it was due to poor data output, not their weather pref, etc. Just that.
Reading the technical thread it needs the posters to back up their "revelation" to it being bad IMHO.

£180 a year is something for me...
http://www.moneysavi...cheapenergyclub
try it out
time to turn the computer off and set the alarm for 3 hours just to save a few bob and wake to see if any snow has made it here (-:
got mine down the same.
-
and if you rent they make it harderSwitching companies now hardly saves anything, I hope this government gets a grip with energy prices.
-
or just cold and wetMeanwhile...
Very snowy
-
Yup - noticed the gas bill yesterday and decided to switch company's as it was soo high - Feeling that spring warmth might be a wait looking at the models etc, but when it eventually arrives we'll certainly appreciate it - can't wait for the first BarBQ of the year (-:
Think we are a way BBQ time yet, but with your thinking anyway
