Can see here the flow is going to turn more NEly by 1700 through tomorrow ..
Not sure if that changes where the convergence zone sets up but obviously there's a massive one in the North Sea east of Dundee this afternoon, where the Ne'ly breeze meets the E'ly maybe?
If accurate that will help me, @Hairy Celt and@Northern Strath.

Oh? We had one 5 minute flurry about 12.30, otherwise sunny and extremely boring.
Ah, the radar lies!
Even worse then as that means it's not even nearby!

Still nothing in Inverness, need just a slightly more northerly component to the wind.
The snow is literally just over the bridge over the Black Isle

We are so frustratingly close to a streamer of heavy snow, just need the flow to move slightly more NE to SW.
Don't think it's going to happen though
Someone tell me I'm wrong please

Wankshittery radar is on overtime tonight for the black isle. Absolute nonsense.

Aye I'm in Inverness city centre at sea level at the moment and it's been snow the whole time since it turned a few hours ago.

It's actually turning into a fairly heavy fall now. Big flakes.

Turned to sleet and wet snow here too.

There seems to be a small mild sector in the north because this is turning out to be a damp mess so far?

Pretty big variations across the country, even some cold spots like Aviemore are only at 0°C.
A few more nights of cold minima to come though!

Not to be pedantic, just that these islands rarely come up in conversation and I feel this is their moment.
Svalbard is at a tropical -16°C there.

Showers now being generated out in the Moray Firth and coming this way. A NErly can really deliver in this area but with these upper air temps it's a risky business. -3°C currently and still all white.
Everyone do a snowdance for me please.
