  1. Plenty of sunshine here, a bit of a build up of non threatening cloud this afternoon. Coast at West Bay was beautiful this morning, edge taken off enjoyment by the stiff NW breeze. Good clear atmosphere/
  2. Woken at 06.40 BST by lightning and thunder followed by torrential rain and more lightning but heard no more thunder. We were on the tail of the system that gave the storms, but the earlier heavy rain came right through. Final total to 09,00BST was 24mm.
  3. Stunning day here. Went to Abbotsbury and walked along the coast path for a bit and then up on to the shingle and watched the world, and a few hundred Canada Geese, go by for a while. Drove along the coast road to Bridport and were rewarded with superb views of Lyme Bay.
  4. A very warm night here too, fortunately there was a stiff NE breeze coming through the open bedroom window which made sleeping possible! Min was 17.1°C Edge of the cloud cover around 07.00GMT as it began to pass over this location. Currently overcast, humid and 23°C.
  5. These two days have been the warmest September days in my record here which goes back to 2000. Yesterday max was 29.8°C and today's 29.5°C, previous high September max was 28°C.
  6. Just 0.2°C shy of the magic 30°C here about an hour ago. Early fog cleared really quickly this morning and the fair weather cumulus has not been a problem. Agree with Dan about the MetO forecast for Wednesday here too, earlier it was sunny all through to early evening and now there appears to be rain coming in the morning too.
  7. Accurate forecast, for once. John Hammond said he was confident that the front, and therefore the cloud, would clear by lunchtime. Lovely day out there now, sky seems to be completely clear.
  8. Forecast for the morning was heavy rain with thunderstorms for the afternoon. What did we get? A bit of nuisance value drizzle around half eight this morning, a nice, sunny and warm afternoon followed by a few brief showers this evening.
  9. Thunderstorm here too, tanking it down for the last 15 minutes and looks set to continue for the same again. Dry until this batch came over, warm and humid.
  10. Listening to the thunder that Mike reports, but here it's currently dry and sunny yet only a few miles away. Another cell coming up from Crewkerne area may change the status here!
  11. Somewhat of a damp squib in this area. A few distant flashes, no thunder heard at all, virtually all the rain went to north and east of here. Total to 09.00GMT was a paltry 7.8mm.
  12. Six consecutive days with a max of 30°C+. First time in my record here which goes back to 2000. Previously 2003 held the record with four days in August. Not sure that it will get that high today. Pleasant north-easterly blowing this morning.
  13. Only had a few spits and spots that didn't even wet the ground, blink and you missed them, especially as the sun was still shining! This was around half five.
  14. 20.8mm to 09.00 GMT and currently in a dry slot. Guessing it's the centre of the low? It's been dry here for four hours now, but there is water on the roads in all the usual places where the drains are blocked, again, as usual.
  15. No rain here at all today. Long sunny spells, warm in the sun, refreshing breeze and less humid.
  16. Dry as a bone here all day, long sunny spells this afternoon and a high of 23°C.
  17. The storms stayed resolutely to the south of us yesterday. One ordinary rumble about 15.15 and an absolute cracker at 18.00. Rainfall total......0.4mm.
  18. 28.6mm in last 24 hours, most fell overnight as we had a dry day yesterday after early showers. Brighter out there at present, but chance of more showers this afternoon?
  19. Currently some useful rain for the garden. Not sure if the heavier showers over the Cherbourg peninsula are heading this way or not.
  20. No longer raining, total in last 24 hours is 0.5mm, temperature currently 15.3°C Not sure that it has done the garden much good, but glad I cut the grass yesterday!
  21. Right on the western edge of the rain here, only light drizzle in the last three hours, nothing has penetrated the gauge yet.
