We were right at the centre of the low yesterday and all the rain bands missed us. After one shower around half nine, it was a grey, drizzly day. Overnight, as the rain band slipped away to the south, there was no rain at all. Total for the 24hours to 09.00 today was 4.7mm. Total for December so far is 116.6mm, taking the annual total to just over 1000mm. Sunny today and much colder.

Best not to pick them wet unless you can deal with them immediately or they will go soggy! I always used to wait for a frost when I lived in the Chilterns, but since we've been down here if I'd waited for a frost some years I'd never have picked them. You can always put them in the freezer for a few days to simulate frost. Best of luck!
